CARELESS HIM, CARELESS ME....

WHILE WAITING for Girlie to come out from a cineplex show in Jaya Jusco, I walked around the shopping complex and came across some good sales on men's sandals.... Saw one good pair and quickly telephoned Andy to ask for his size..."Size 10?? Ok, good, I will buy for u..."

Upon reaching home, quickly, I told him to try on the sandals... the size or the colour might not suit him... He opened up the box and tried on one...."Ok, mum, nice, not bad ..." Then I left him be.... suddenly, he exclaimed loudly..."MUMMMM, come and SEEE!! HOW COME THESE SANDALS ARE BOTH ON THE RIGHT LEG!!!"

HUH??? NOT understanding what he meant, I went and looked.... this was what I saw...

sigh...Dont know whether to feel angry or amused....the salesperson must have mistakenly wrapped up 2 RIGHT LEG SANDALS into the box.... haiyah.. meaning tomorrow I have to go again to get it changed....kek sei yan... especially now with the petrol hike, I have been trying my best to cut down driving around...

Moral of the story this time IS ...take the RIGHT person along to buy sandals so that the right and the left are THERE ALRIGHT !!

FIRST WORLD IN GENTINGS

ITS BEEN A NUMBER OF YEARS since I last went up to Gentings Highlands and I am not surprised if there have been many changes .... But what amazes me the most is this First World Hotel... ( I didnt have time to venture outside, actually)

When I reached the hotel lobby, it was almost 6pm in the evening, so I thought it would be just nice to check in, have a nice dinner before adjourning to the Osmonds concert in the Arena Of Stars... But..wow, am I in for a shock! ... Never would I expect a large crowd like this waiting at the lobby of this First World Hotel, especially at such a late hour too....

Have to take number to check in... I m one of those sitting there to wait for my turn..

How many do I have to wait?? 100 over guests !!!

How long did I wait??? One over hour la..!!!!

So I went round snapping pictures of the hotel guests while waiting for my turn...

....JUST TO GET THIS SMALL BUDGET ROOM!!!!

When we finally got into the room, it was after 7pm...quickly we threw our bags on the bed and rushed for dinner...

Moral of the story ? Next time check in earlier la..and.... pay more to have a more comfortable stay....OK????

BECAUSE OF YOU.....

WHAT A MISERABLE DAY!!

My colleague is leaving us ... she is another bubbly fun going lady... but I m happy for her.. its like a blessing in disguise for her...now she will be in another department few floors below me, I wish I could go with her too ... I will miss her...

Working enviroment is very important, it is like a 2nd home to me, sometimes I spend 10 hours in the office, its more than what I spend at home minus my precious sleeping hours....

So.. to have a nice happy enviroment in the office, what is important?? As for me, a good boss and cooperative staff....

How to define a good boss?
A boss who is understanding and firm at the same time, a boss who is neutral and yet listens to the staff's problems and dont take sides....(my demands are not high)

And now...WHAT MAKES A LOUSY BOSS?
A boss who is shrewd, sly and always twisting his/her words at others' expanse...
A boss who is always siding those he/she favors and 'victimise' those who are not....
A boss who doesnt appreciate staff's work eventhough it is done properly and reaching target date....
A boss who does personal business in the office and will 'blacklist' them who dont contribute (pong chan) to his/her business...
A boss who always think of going for a short holiday at the staff's expanse and will 'blacklist' those who dont go along with him/her....

AND the list will go on and on and ON AND ON AND ON......

Boss Boss, please please go away...
Please dont come and spoil our day

Life was so good before u came

But now u r here, we are always blamed...

OSMONDS BROTHERS IN GENTINGS, MALAYSIA

WOW...CANT BELIEVE IT ... I have actually gone and watched the Osmond Brothers performed LIVE in Malaysia, I have been looking forward to this concert ever since they advertised...you can say I m crazy for them but I m not alone... The whole auditorium was full of fans like me, those mostly in their 40s, 5os, 60s, 70s...they were so sporting, I was really surprised...

The moment the Osmonds came out from the stage, everyone was cheering loudly, really cheering with the "OOOHss.. AHhh..... OWsss....WOOOOsss.." and the clapping was really stimulating that one cannot help feeeeeling young again at the ARENA OF STARS last nite. Some "aunties" were even standing up and dancing to the first song that the Osmonds sang.. "Crazy Horses"....
(I , for one couldnt help clapping and shaking my shoulders to the music but too shy to stand up and dance la...)

My camera is not so good...managed to capture some of these pictures...will always remain here in my blog so that it can bring back memories again and again.....

Presenting the Osmonds....

Donny & Marie singing "I'm a little bit country, I'm a little bit rock n roll"

Workout After Work.....

TODAY'S workout in MSN (Majlis Sukan Negeri) was very good... there were only 4 players this evening, just nice... no need for long intervals... I think all in all, we played 5 games altogether, almost non stop.... no grumbling, no tsk tsk sound, no showing off dissatisfied face....haha...only having fun playing and outrunning each other with techniques... (wah...lau)

warming up first

still warming up while I played with the camera.. I wanted to be in the picture but no one snapped for me...hai-yah..

PUNCHING BAG....ON A BLOG...

REVEALING 'one of those days' as a mama-mia...

On this particular morning, I was supposed to print out an essay for my girl the first thing I reached the office..oooppss..shhh... but little did I know, my office pc only support m/soft 2003 whereas she has done her essay in a 2007 version...so how to print??? And the problem is, she has to pass up the essay today ...(afternoon session)

Oh dear, cham...what to do??? Then my colleague told me...why not go cyber cafe to get it printed, but it would cost me a few ringgit $ to do that. I guess it was a good idea that time so I went looking for cyber cafes, never been to one before.... When I entered into 1st one, all I saw, in few rows were schoolboys, still dressed in uniform...(hak sei ngor.)... no need to go school meh?

Anyway, dont be a busybody (K-por), I approached a longhaired man at the counter, "can print m/soft 2007 version here ah?" The way he looked at me, he must be thinking that I m looking for my son there...then he said, "no printer, no printer"

To cut story short, after going in and out of 3 cyber cafes, I finally got the printed out version of her essay, quickly drove home, my hair all flustered, face almost all red becos of the hot- hot sun... upon reaching the door step, my little girl was surprised to see me and gave me a good hug in return...ahhhh... all my trouble going round Ipoh, was fast forgotten at that spur of the moment.. then rushed back to the office in full speed....

Hey, its not the end yet....when I fetched her from school that evening, naturally, I asked her about the essay... passed up already??? She was behind me but I can feel her grinning ..."Teacher said no need to pass up today, Friday first.....hehe...."

Wanna imagine my face???? ..........DON'T......

Take in some deep breaths.........S-L-O-W....LY...

..... ON 2ND THOUGHTS, BETTER VENT OUT IT HERE..!!!!! AHHHHHH.....AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CANNOT LOSE ONE...

TALKING ABOUT BADMINTON, this evening I went for my usual game in the stadium... My time there is very precious cos I always have to rush off at 6.35pm the latest... So as not to waste time, when I reach, I will play 4-5 games and then cabut off (run)

My main intention to play badminton is to have a good game with the lady players without feeling pressured but pleasure and to sweat it all as much as I can... But alas, it is not so....

Nowadays, I always feel the pressure partnering with certain 'must-win' ladies... They want to win in every game, they are so very very the serious, man... for each faulty mistake, she might make this sound, tsk..tsk...tsk.. (like why so easy also can make mistake) It is really pressuring...

One of my friends has given up too... As for me, I will be 'migrating' to another group of players soon...the group whom I am comfortable with and at the same time, cheering each other on, regardless of what race we are.....

Victory in Singapore

THIS AFTERNOON was spent watching Astro live badminton Singapore Open... the top guns from China didnt participate, leaving Malaysia having 2 victories in the men singles and men doubles....

I love watching this Lee Chong Wei, esp. during the 2nd set, it was 15-0 against Simon Santoso before the latter finally got a point to break the egg... finally Lee won 21-5, 2 straight sets.... the commentator was saying that it would be first time in history if Lee Chong Wei scored 21 against 0....but of course he is exaggerating...

Anyway, its fun watching this Lee played his shots, his tactics and movements are so 'classy'... haha.. I m not blogging for Lee Chong Wei...

During the Thomas Cup lately, I was so overwhelmed when he won against Lin Dan in 2 straight games...eventhough overall, Malaysia lost to China, it was an astounding victory for Lee Chong Wei....

THIS MORNING, Chris and I had our breakfast in this corner coffeeshop...most of the tables were taken up except this one table out on the 5 foot way.....Chris said "dont put parking coupon, after all we r facing our car, we can see the attendant if he comes by".....Since the petrol hike day, we have to be thrifty in everything that we face....

I ordered this water chestnut drink....cost me rm1.40

hokkien mee cost rm 3.00

For lunch - mama cook this meal for Fernie

TRANFORMATION....

TODAY I read a message from an old Daily Bread ... it was about a man's life...how his life was BEFORE knowing Christ and how his life was transformed AFTER he does...

It reminded me of something I have undergone before too... In looking back over my life, when I felt that everything seems to be tumbling down then, God intervened... His guidance and His providence lifts my spirit up again...

The transformation will come about when all we have to do is to accept Him as our Personal Lord and Savior.. believe in Him, have faith and trust and most of all, love Him above all things...

WITH PERMISSION granted from Lynn, these pictures depict a physical transformation being taken place...

But physical appearance is not relevant.....no matter how she looks, BEFORE OR AFTER, its the beauty of the inner self that is more important...she is still one lady with cheerful, bubbly, cheeky, lovable, humble and humorous person.... Her sweet enchanting smile shows it all....

DOUBLE SALARY MONTHLY!!

ANOTHER new announcement for all government servants...

Early morning while in market, I heard this news... government servants are getting their salary twice per month in order to cope with the rising price of everything..."almost everything"...

How do I feel about this change?? Frankly, I welcome this move, I dont mind getting 2 times salary eventhough its being halved every 15 days....

I remember during my younger days, while I was working the stock exchange firm, the boss then practised this fortnightly salary too and I was never short of money to spend...(oh.., did I mention it was decades ago???)

Heard its going to start in August....meanwhile, we will hear a lot of feedbacks over here... but I guess there will be more positive remarks than negative.... who wouldnt want an earlier payment going into their pockets...but then again, one must be disciplined enough to put aside some cash as savings....(starting with me)

(by the way, I m still mooning over the 625rm rebate which i wouldnt be getting this year ... sigh...)

WRONG EXPIRY DATE!

WHEN THE GOVERNMENT announced that they will give rebates of RM625/- to us drivers whose road tax expired beginning of 1st April 2008, my heart sank several inches....(exaggerating la)

I should be very happy....but not this year yet ........COS..... MY ROAD TAX EXPIRED ON THE 31ST MARCH 2008!!!

Anyway, I am happy for those drivers out there, at least they are given this 'little' form of subsidy if not more...

As for me, I will have to wait for my turn, 31st March 2009 before I get the feel of the rebate... I will slowly slowly...wait....(man man tang)

BLACK DARK MONDAY...

TODAY is Monday, supposed to be black, so they say... and guess what?? It is really true... today was really black...'black' in the sense of ... my whole office building was in darkness...yeh!!!!

When I reached office this morning around 7.45am, the 4 lifts at the lobby was barred from entering... aiyoh!! No joke... my department is at the 5th floor, how man... with my high heels, 2 litres of water and one document bag weighing nearly a kilo, I slowly dragged myself up .... stopping at 3rd floor to catch breaths, then 4th floor to catch some more breaths before reaching the 5th nearly without any breath...!!!

So cham...cannot deny my age is really catching up...furthermore, no breakfast yet...on the brighter side, can lose weight, hor....walking up like that...

Office was in darkness, no air con, no fan, no ventilation, no phone lines and worst, no internet...

AND how many times I walked up and down today......for the first time in history, I have walked 800 steps on the staircase....PHEW... no wonder tonite's dinner I could 'wallop' so much....one plate of rice and 2 bah changs (dumplings) made in Malacca..."donated" by my buddy, Lynn ...

(hope tomorrow another black dark day in office..hehe..no need to crack head ma..)

ALL IN Coffeeshop

LUNCH was taken place at this ALL INN coffeeshop behind Jalan Bendahara...First time we came here, didnt know what actually was in store...When the 'auntie' mentioned there were various types of tongsui, we were so estactic, couldnt decide which to order, eventually ended up with these 3...

After taking these 3 and paying RM5 something, we agree unanimously that we will not see the last of this ALL INN cafe....

this is delicous...santan sago yam all in one...

another must-try ginkyo, ice fungus (seet yee) foo chook...

and for cooling effect, this is the best... toongkwa (pumpkin) with loong ngan (dragon's eyes) or mata kuching in Malay... :)

INDIAN food In TAMIL school

THIS MORNING breakfast was in a canteen inside a Tamil school, Buntong.... have to cut down expenses ma.... anyway, over here, they serve hot, straight from the pan..even the nasi lemak (rice) was still steaming hot.... that is why I like to come here ...cheap ma...

INDIAN food has its own speciality, different varieties too...they are tosai, capati, apom manis, vadae, italii and many others....(haha..i simply spell one, as long as it is pronounced like this) and they are prepared there and then only when the order is made...

nasi lemak

i ate all these today.... believe it or not.. hehe

clockwise from left: nasi lemak, apom manis and vadae....

Files Of Justice- my old favourite...

BOUGHT this vcd last week in Yik Foong Complex, actually I have been looking for this series for quite awhile already. Old show during the late 90s...I remember enjoying watching this Files Of Justice very much, not only me, i guess, cos there are Part 1-4, it must be very popular then...

As I m very satt yik (short memory) nowadays, I cant remember much of the show, so now watching it every night is a bliss for me.....

This is the type of show I love to watch, lawyers, court cases, detective, romance and the 'bestest' part were the conversations when the 'lawyers' get-together...I love to listen to their crappy talk..... (hou tai toe sei)

Oh, by the way, I m not blogging for TVB ... how I wish they pay me to... earn some extra cash ma....dont know why these days, so fatt cheen hon already (craze for money) hehe...

QUESTION MARK ??? CAFE

TONIGHT'S DINNER was at this Question Mark Cafe in Ipoh Garden South... There are quite a number of cafes in that area ... since petrol has gone up so much beginning from today, we must decide first where to eat before driving out...unlike before, we used to drive around while thinking of what to eat... now time has change......starting from today....

grilled fillet in lemon mayonnaise - its mine...

chicken chop with orange cream for Fernie

grilled steak with barbecue sauce for goh goh AA

and finally grilled lamb chop for goh goh A...

The food came in small portions, the steak and the lamb meat were a bit tough but the fish fillet and the chicken chop were nice...esp with the lemon and orange cream.... ONLY THE BILL WAS NOT SO NICE... cost me RM60.00!!!..better start budgeting tomorrow...petrol is now RM2.70 per litre...no joke.....sigh....

ENGINEERING A JOKE!!!

THIS CONVERSATION took place while 4 of us were in the car, AA was driving.... when all of a sudden, this young girl questioned her brother....

Young Girl : AA goh goh, what course are u taking now?

AA : Engineering .... civil....

Young Girl : Why take civil, why not Gold?

AA : ????

Then after a few seconds, he guffawed out loud after realising his little sister's innocence and ignorance of engineering

AA : Civil Engineering ... C-I-V-I-L not that SILVER ......hahahahaha....

All of us had a good laugh, young girl smiled broadly...."Awwww..."

Never had I thought until that day, my young girl was been thinking of silver and gold engineering......well.....well......

It will continue to stay on our minds...that is why I blogged this up....when she grows up, we will have this to remind her.....THE SILVER JOKE.....

Authentic Houses and Heritage Food..

WEEKEND Sunday was spent in Penang...all of us wanna eat and eat till "lausai" muak... in other words, eat from morning till night... I didnt manage to capture all the food that we took, too busy eating ma..... but then other than food, Penang is famous for its authentic houses and might remain as a heritage in this Pearl Of The Orient...

We have to park our car in this narrow lane here, off Penang Road, in order to take the famous Chendol dessert and of course, THE LAKSA....

see how narrow this road is... the chendol stall is right at the end there...

maybe this picture manage to emphasize on the road's narrowness...

if u want to drink this in the coffeeshop, u have to pay 40cents more, otherwise, stand outside under the hot sun leh...
purposely came here to savour this laksa....hhmmm....'someone' by the name of AA walloped 2 bowls simultaneously...

Lunar New Year 2024 Before And After

TODAY IS THE SIXTH DAY OF LUNAR NEW YEAR.... And this is the day when I am now free to blog a few lines to activate back my blog after a lon...
