In another month or so, my girl will be entering secondary four. The other day I saw her taking out an additional mathematics and was browsing through the pages. She never said anything to me but she mentioned to her brother that she will be facing some difficulties next year in her Math problems. I know this girl of mine is the worrying sort of person, she is tense in her studies.
I heard her brother advising her to get a good tutor and meanwhile he asked her to go online for some Algebra help because she might need to have some basics for her Physics and Chemistry if she were to go into science stream. She listened to him intently and he gave her this website to go into for her Algebra word problems as well. If she does not understand, she can refer to the Algebra 2 help for further steps and instructions.
Actually her favorite subject is Maths, she loves doing Math word problems but she said she doesn't like Chemistry and Physics. Well, I guess she needs some tutoring in these two subjects as well. But I told her not to worry as yet, there will be ways to help her improve in these subjects. As for now, whenever she is free, she will go online to have a feel about Maths, after all, it comes with the Maths answers too. At least she can keep herself occupied during the day, two months holiday staying at home can be quite boring too, right?

"Don't know much about geography,
don't know much trigonometry.
Don't know much about algebra,
don't know what s slide rule is for.
But I know that one and one is two,
and if this one could be with you,
what a wonderful world this would be."

Claire... i tell you ahh... I am hopeless in math, and my dad almost kill himself in frustration to get me do my maths right when I was ur girl's age! Send me to a tutor, I also made my tutor cried! LOL...hopeless to boot~! I think u dun have to worry bout ur girl. She look smart! =D Bet she can do her maths better than me! i was in science stream...and tho my maths is always red in colour, I always scored A in Bio and chem... amazing, isn't it?
My daughter scored straight As in the PMR and was placed in the best science class. But over the years, while helping her with her school work, I noticed that she was not that good at Maths, in particular.
She went for two days and on the 3rd day, she wanted to quit school. I think I had a post on this. In the end, she switched to the arts stream...and also got A1 in all her subjects except English Literature which she studies on her own.
My Maths was and still is terrible. Used to get "6 pening"(F9)during exam. But lucky during the major exam somehow or another, managed to scape thru :p
