Jelutong Market And Ayer Itam Delights, Penang

ONE MORNING MY FRIEND TOOK ME TO THE JELUTONG MARKET ONE MORNING FOR BREAKFAST.... It was my first time there and as we walked along, there were a number of stalls which caught my eye.  Since it was morning, every stall that I passed by made me very hungry.... finally we settled somewhere in the middle where I could slowly checked out what attracted me most...
These stalls reminded me of my childhood days where I stayed just opposite the town market..
Now those stalls are all shifted into an indoor complex....
Unlike the Jelutong market here...

Patrons can sit here at their own leisure time to enjoy their breakfast...
We sat directly in front of this stall selling Apom Balik...
We bought two pieces and before I could take pictures of them,
they went into our tummies already....
Too late...
I had Hokkien mee again!!
This time my noodles are those of the instant ones....
Each bowl is RM4...
Love the heavy garnishing on top...
My friend ordered the Lam Mee... I tried a bit.. and I like the soup base...

Fast forward to afternoon.... I was yearning for a bowl of Laksa and I remember there is one stall in Ayer Itam that suits my taste buds....
We had to find a shady area along a side lane....
We ordered a bowl of Koay Teow Th'ng with Duck and Porky meat plus innards...
And a bowl of Laksa as appetizer!
Now come to think of it, my Penang trip this time is filled
with the same type of food but from different locations....
And I guess I will carry on eating the same thing over and over again...
hahahaha....

  2. Wow, you sure know how to travel all around Penang for good food now. Ayer Itam really is very jam so we don't dare to drive there when we are in Penang.

  3. I see the things still inside the intestines. Not bitter?

The food at such places is always the best but I would need a fan! No need for air-con, just a fan...or I would be sweating plus-plus...and like our good friend on KL, those stools...cannot tahan lah. Same thing, me! Hehehehehehe!!!!!
