Simply The Best As In Tina Turner

A round up of the Teambuilding course. This is one course I enjoyed myself tremendously compared to the other courses I went before. Something not too dangerous and adventurous and no "studying", I am all IN! LOL... I have been to courses that lasted through the night till 11pm, sitting at the same place and listening to the lecturer talking in monotones and myself "drifting" out of dreamland on and off... That is called boredom. But the previous week in Kampar, it was a memorable course....
In the morning, when the moon is at its set...
Can even see the mist looming before the mountains...
Morning Stretching exercises...
arrrghhh... I couldn't do this....
At the field... another project....
I nearly got "sunburnt" but I didn't mind at all...
Another project..."F1"
End of program ....
And our group got 5th out of 5 groups... hahahahaa....
Nevertheless we remained Cheerful and Strong...

Night Of Speech, Acting and Singing

The Trainers wanted two MC-s (Master of Ceremony) for the night function, one male and female.  They draw lots.... and out of 40 over participants, I got Picked!!  Oh gosh!  How come I never get prizes during Lucky Draws but when it comes to MC, I got it??   I tried to wiggle my way out of it by "negotiating" with the trainers but to no avail... LOL....

Leaving with no choice, I skipped a program and hid myself in the hotel room
and did all the essay writing for the night's programs... in Malay language...
I was practically "blank" and wanted to call up my girl to give me some tips.. LOL..
But thanks to my iPad, I managed to find some "Kata-kata aluan...."
There was no printer and I had to write word by word...
That shows how "efficient" my malay language is... LOL...
Then the night began...  Dinner first...
My roommate kept smiling away... no tension ma....
While mine is just this!  No appetite at all...
"Nerves"
Then the Night began...
I wonder who took this picture!
Just look at my mouth... hahahaaa....
My group had to do a short sketch..... Hari Raya Home Coming...
By then I was "warm-up" already... and I rendered a song... *hehehee*

The night has just begun..  my appetite came back...
And I Nearly did a duet with my colleague!
Too bad I don't know how to sing a Duet Malay song...
Anyway, we had fun that night...
Let our "hair" down,  so...  the saying goes...

Exploring Gua Tempurung (Tempurung Caves)

After breakfast, our next teambuilding program was held in Gua Tempurung (Tempurung Caves), a ten minutes drive from our hotel. I have been into the caves once before, that was almost ten years ago!  And I was very surprised that much have changed since then....
Surrounded by greens when we arrived....
This must be a mining pool since it is between Gopeng and Kampar
which are famous for their tin mines those days ...

Big parking space for tourists....
The gardens leading to the Tempurung Cave...
It is maintained and in better shape now than it was ten years ago...
I remember there was only a small entrance hut then...
For the not-so-adventurous type like me, we were given some "assignment" to do....
In no time, we finished our project and we can relax a bit....
I walked around... took some pictures as usual....
I feel the pond needs a bit more more "maintenance".....
Or maybe it is being kept this way for its natural look?
Muhibah group and our two trainers...
One for remembrance before we left for Gua Tempurung....
It is a good experience to come visiting here especially nature lovers...
As for me, I prefer to be on "dry ground" than "wet"....

Teambuilding Course In Grand Kampar Hotel

Went for a Teambuilding course held in Grand Kampar Hotel... it was a three days course starting on Friday evening and ended on Sunday afternoon... now I am back home.... Phew, what a relief! Still very tired but then thinking back, this course is full of fun and laughter. No boring lessons till late night like those usual courses I went to last time.

My Only worry about this Teambuilding course is the Water Adventure, I was so worried that EVERYONE have to go for river rafting... thank goodness there was no River Rafting.....

Reached and checked into the Grand Kampar Hotel around 5pm....
Grand Kampar Hotel....
Not bad leh... the room is very spacious...
and the bed looks so "welcoming" that I just wanted to jump in and sleep!  :p
Will be sharing this big bed with my colleague...
Quiet during the day...
More Happening at night because UTAR and KTAR are nearby....
Around the vicinity of the hotel....
Lots of parking space...
Just opposite the hotel....
Lots of food outlets...
The very next morning, we got up at 6.30am and
started some "shedding off pounds" exercise....
(Six meals were served each day!)
Saturday 17/8
Sunday 18/8...  No difference, right?  Phew.....
Me and my "room-mate"....
Looking at this picture,
I think both of us became rounder after the 6 meals per day course... hahahaa....

Short Getaway To Kampar

Another weekend getaway... but somewhere near to Ipoh, only a 45 minutes drive to a place called Kampar.  It has been some time since I last went there... Those days before the highways were built, we had to pass through the small towns to do down south.  One of them is Kampar and we love to go there for our breakfast before proceeding to KL.   But ever since the north south highways are built, these small towns were more or less neglected but brought back to life when KTAR and UTAR are built.

Back to my short day trip, my friend and I began our drive to Gopeng and then to Kampar for our breakfast cum lunch....
Kampar during the 1990sss...
(took this picture which was hung in a coffeeshop)
I ordered this bowl of porridge.... it is "croaky porridge"

Love this paku pakis (wild ferns) with peanuts sauce...
Some crispy fried fish balls... they cost only 10 sen each!!

My sister recommended this dumpling
Well, it might not look translucent and nice looking..
but after taking a bite, it reminded me of those dumplings
which my mom used to make during our younger days....
And I ended up buying back a few packets for dinner!!
Oh, I am not a coffee lover but when my friend told me that it was best!!  Feeling curious, we asked the boss what brand he used and he brought over the whole tin of coffee powder to show us... hahahaa..... He said that many of his customers also commented that this coffee has the "Ummmph" and the "Kick."  I am not a coffee lover but after he told me this, I had to take a sip from my friend's glass. Well, I think it tasted good but not so sure it is great.... hahahaa.....

We Ate Raw Fish In Kampar

Have Food Will Travel, I thought of changing my header theme to these four words...what do you think? Suits someone like me, right? You name the food and the place and I will go find them... hahaha...

Alright, back to my travel food post, this time we traveled forty five minutes to a small town Kampar where UTAR and KTAR are situated.  A five minutes drive from these two colleges will bring you to a old town, Kampar where the food adventure begins...
Part of the food gang.....
The Three Generation... hahaha...
My niece led the way actually....
she knows her way around here..
This is the shop where the food galore begins...
we ordered one bowl of laksa to try...
since we heard so much about it...
RM4.00, super cheap!
I ordered some condiments to go with the laksa noodles..
Must order these too... "char yuen"
Fried prawn balls...
claypot yee mee (dried style)
my niece told us that this "mui choy pau" is nice...
first time trying... it is fine...
something different from our barbecue dumplings..
ice kacang for me...
ahhhh...
for lovers of "tien kai", I recommend this...
only RM4.00 per bowl or RM3.80 (1.25usd)

this is also a MUST for porridge lovers..
eat them raw with the porridge..
the fish are very thinly sliced and fresh...
No fishy smell whatsoever....
She likes it... Pure Delight!  :)
I wouldn't mind going there once again...one day...
