The Good Old Days And Now

During my childhood days, I remember playing Card games with my neighbours, all of us were not from rich families, so naturally, we made our games from cardboards then. We were very cooperative, helping each other, colouring the cards and spent a lot of time doing the numbers and creating our own patterns. One of the cardboard games is bingo.  The fun part was when the winner had all the numbers called out, he/she would repeatedly shout 'BINGO' a number of times excitedly, so loud that we used to get ticked off by our mothers.  Those were the good old days!

When I started working, there were times when my elder sibling would take me to a club for Some board games once a week. I can still remember it was a Thursday each week and I was always looking forward to it. We really enjoyed ourselves very much, the chances of winning was high, but besides the snowball prizes, Some of the board games were very interesting and fun, play, we enjoyed watching and listening to the compere making jokes every now and then.  Besides the games, we had a good time bonding with other people in the club,  we really enjoyed ourselves and each event brought laughter, well, it was very all very hilarious then.

But with the new millennium days, I am now hooked to the computer, friends called me a "computer addict."  I cannot survive without a computer, literally saying.  Most of my time I stay connected to the internet whether I am at home or in the office.  I love to surf websites and weblogs, writing my journals and some time back, I was "hooked" onto online games.  There are some days that I could not sleep and I log in to just like to play for fun, just to get back the nostalgic feeling of my younger days.  There are times when I check out for online bingo but eventually, I ended up more awake than sleepy instead...

Talking about online games, one of my friends now prefers to stay at home and plays games on her iPad.  Her kids are all grown up now and away from home and she told me that she is having a time of her life now, relaxing and once awhile she ends up buying some online lotto tickets for fun.  She said, "You'll never know, I may strike one day and then I will take you along on a cruise adventure!"  LOL...  Well, online games might be interesting and as long as we know where our limits are, these games bring around adverse effects if we do not have self control.  I now this friend of mine is very cautious with money and as long as she does not go overboard, she is safe as she is now.  As the saying goes, it is time to unwind and have pleasure after a long day of pressure. :)
