A Wedding Dinner At Overseas Restaurant, Ipoh

The wedding dinner was supposed to start at 7.30pm sharp as written in the card, and I purposely drove out at 6.30pm so that I could get a parking place in the restaurant compound. To my disappointment, all were fully parked even though I was there an hour earlier. Leaving no choice, I had to drive out again and parked opposite into another road. Quickly stepped out of the car and joined a group of women who walked past mine. Didn't want to be alone while walking and furthermore, Ipoh is no more a safe haven to walk around in the evening too...

Since I was early and my friends also arrived almost the same time, we quickly took some pictures of the beautiful garden backdrop right at the entrance of the restaurant.
Beautiful layout...
Wonder it is from the restaurant or from the wedding planner....
It was made "PERFECT" when a beautiful lady sat on it....
The bride's sister... so sweet!!
The colour of the gown suits her real nice!
Hope I didn't spoil the garden theme....
As usual to while away the time...
Someone mentioned I was "squashed"...
No... I was given "love and warmth" actually...
So nice of my friend to take these pictures for me..
Theme.... Garden Wedding....
The first dish.... in three platters...
My share on the first dish... so refined...
Managed to capture our classmate, the bride's mother to have a picture with us....
And a last one before we went our separate ways....
Most probably from now on, wedding cards will be more regular....

Granada: Discovering The Alhambra And The Tapas.

What comes to mind when you think of Granada? The ancient fortress of the Alhambra, the historical district of the AlbaycĂn, the huge platters of tapas? The city is all of that and much more. Book your hotel in Granada now if you do not want to miss out on all that food and history. Do not forget to take a walk around the city center, visit the cathedral and the nearby churches, and enjoy the city’s fresh air and variety of local food.

Book your tickets to the Alhambra in advance.

Being the city’s most famous landmarks and most visited place, it is to be expected that one needs to book the tickets to the Alhambra in advance. There are several types of tickets, all of which explore the main grounds of the Alhambra, the Generalife gardens and the Nazari Palaces, which are the main feature of this landscape. It is in these palaces that you will find the famous Court of Lions, a large patio decorated with intricate columns and a fountain with stone statues of lions. Take a guided tour around the main halls, which are covered in ceramic tiles, wood latticework and ancient hand-woven tapestries. After that head to the gardens: all of them have plenty of fountains, statues and pools. Do not miss the terraces, which are known for their views towards the rest of the city of Granada.

Spend an afternoon exploring Albaycin.

The district of the Albaycin is located at the foot of the Alhambra. This area, and the neighbouring area of the Sacromonte, are filled with narrow streets lined with traditional, white low houses and patios. This ancient district has a a variety of tapas bars worth exploring. Try gambas al pil pil prawns cooked with garlic and olive oil, a variety of stuffed olives and salmorejo, a traditional cold soup.

Ski in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Who knew that the hot city of Granada, with its ancient architecture and traditions, was a popular skiing destination? There are several skiresorts in Granada, ideal for a break enjoying the snow and a variety of snow sports. Lift passes are affordable, and there are many apartments, chalets and hotels with views towards the mountains in the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. There are several green and blue slopes for beginners, and more advanced skiers will be able to ski down the red slopes. The most famous red slope runs from the summit of the Veleta mountain to the village, located more than one kilometer below the mountain top. Do not miss the saunas and restaurants, ideal for some relaxation after a day spent skiing, snowboarding and sleigh-riding in the mountains.

Wedding Month Of The Year

This month of the year seems to be the most popular month to have weddings!  Why do I say that?  Well, for one, I received a wedding invitation card last month from my classmate and her daughter is the bride on this day, yes, today!  Not only me, I have friends who told me that they have to attend wedding dinners this evening too and tomorrow as well.... So that adds up to my theory that indeed December is a busy month for weddings and dinners!  :)

We ladies are kind of "stressed up" when it comes to attending parties and wedding dinners.  We tend to focus on our own dressing and not so much on the bride and others.  Alright, I won't speak on yuor behalf, yes... I am who do that if not you.  What shall I wear tonight?  What colour, red?  Black? Or... shall I wear a gown?  Long skirt or mini?  Oh dear, as I "filtered" through my wardrobe, I cannot find anything that makes me look "fantastic!"  LOL... Am I that vain?  I know... at the back of your mind, you must be thinking... "Hey, whatever you wear, it is still you...and people focus on the bride, not you la... please......."

Alright, I know it is kind of too late to get something Beautiful for me to wear.... so I guess I have to go with one of my old dresses that I have worn a number of times to wedding dinners.  Well, who cares, right?  Who in the right mind will still remember what I have worn before... er... right?  I better get it iron out nice and neat ... only a few more hours to go, I better "paint" my hair and get it nicely highlighted now....

Cheers!  Oh, before I sign out, let me share one of these cheap formal dresses with you....I thought of getting something like this... perhaps I cannot never let go this feeling that I am past beyond the age of wearing this kind of style but I am still admiring this dress.... hmmmm... nice?

Desirable Qualities in a Place of Worship

People of all ages can receive comfort by attending a worship service one or more times a week. While some people establish a tradition of worshipping in one particular place, there are other individuals who like to visit several places before settling on one location. Take a look at some common qualities that many people look for when searching for a permanent place of worship.

A Place of Worship That Welcomes Everyone

Most people want to find a place of worship that is open to everyone. They want to feel like they belong there regardless of their background, education and financial status. The minister or worship leader may make it a point to welcome visitors as well as people who attend the services every week. This sort of atmosphere can encourage a visitor to return the next week to attend services and talk with other individuals who are worship there. The Ed Young Jr broadcasts are an example of what people look for in an inclusive service.

Lots of Uplifting Music

Many people look for a place of worship that has a lot of uplifting music incorporated into the service. This could be gospel, rock and roll, classical or traditional music. Some people prefer one type of music over another while others just want to feel more hopeful after the service is over. Singing and clapping can add a lively element to a service and gets many worshippers reinvigorated when it comes to their faith.  Nice and qualities music instruments like m audio are displayed in this website.

No Pressure to Join or Contribute a Monetary Offering

Some people look for a place of worship that doesn’t put any pressure on them to join the congregation right way or start donating money. Usually, a person who is new to a particular place of worship wants to take the time to find out more about the organization before donating money or making a decision to join. In many cases, a person is more likely to join a church and start donating money on a regular basis after he or she learns more about the organization and what goes on there.

A Group of People with Shared Beliefs

There are many individuals who look for a place of worship that is made up of people with the same beliefs. Some individuals feel more comfortable worshipping beside people who believe in the same writings and teachings as they do. They can talk with others about various topics and questions without having to explain themselves or expand on the reasons behind their faith. This sort of comfortable, relaxed gathering can be very appealing to someone looking for a permanent place to worship.

An Inviting Atmosphere

Finally, most people like to walk into a place of worship and feel that they are welcome. If a person is greeted by members of a church as well as the minister or spiritual leader, he or she walks away with a good impression of the place. The person may be invited to sit down with a few members of the congregation during the service or the individual may be asked to stay awhile after the service for a short visit. All of these things can convince a person to come back the next week to enjoy the worship service with newly made friends.

Desserts Served In Mini Furniture

Coming back to my Sabay meal....
Though everyone was full of smiles after a hearty meal, the night was not actually over yet....
Someone suggested going for Desserts!
I was not familiar with the place... but I followed directions
And ended in Bercham.....
For Tau Foo Far.... (Beancurd dessert)
Not so sure about the road name...
Opposite a padang and near to the CK shops...
And we were served....
Small tables... low chairs...
The Feeling was like being served in our own homes...
And after all being said and eaten...
It was time to "log in" to our real homes....
*Goodnite*

Uncle CCF In Thean Chun Old Town, Ipoh

Uncle CCF still remembers me!

It was so crowded, all tables and chairs were occupied... Uncle Chee Cheong Fun saw me and my girl standing by... and he called me, "hey, so long didn't see you come by here already!"  Oh.. was the uncle really talking to me?  "You remember me?"  He said.. "Aiyah, last time you used to go SMI to eat my CCF ma.... "  haahaaa.... yes, many  years ago my colleague and I used to go in by the side gate of St. Michael School and ordered his CCF.... cheaper ma...  So he still remembers though he is now no more selling inside the school!
Then Uncle CCF allowed us to sit at his table... where he put his stuff....
He cleared half the section for me and my girl so that we could eat his CF there...
That is why I could capture this picture at this angle...   :)
Just look at the crowd...
They just stood beside the tables... waiting for the patrons to finish their food... fast!
Can opt for the sidelane too...
But I think I still prefer to sit inside the shop...
After we finished, I took a picture of Uncle CCF...
My dry version of CCF....
With lots of dried prawns and fried onions....
And downed with a chilled Egg Custard...
A meal that lasted me from morning till evening....
