A Walk Down To Old Town Tao Fu Far, Ipoh

JOINING IN THE CROWD AT OLD TOWN, IPOH... It is Hari Raya Haji today and it was indeed a very busy day in old town.  After our walk at Parkson in new town, we drove to old town to have a "look" and to join in the crowd as tourists.  Parked our car near Maybank and on the way to Plan B, we passed by this shop which offers quite a variety of "light" food and desserts....

  Situated along Jalan Bijeh Timah, we entered into the premises...

We walked up the stairs and feel kind of "welcomed".... 

And we sat here for our light snack.... 

Took something light since we had a heavy brunch...

My favourite Tau Fu Far...

And spent our time taking pictures of the place instead... 

The theme is on "Soya Bean" in this shop... 

And the paintings on the wall look kind of colourful.... 

And I couldn't help posing a few here and there... 

The place is quiet, I am surprised... 

All for the better... I can take more pictures...

Otak Otak Muar And Fish Noodles At Farlim

THIS MORNING I HAD A VERY SIMPLE BREAKFAST ALL BY MYSELF....  No, I didn't sit in the coffeeshop alone, I really don't like to sit alone and eat.. when I am always alone, I normally "packet" back to my own nest and sit comfortable to eat it in the kitchen.... and this morning was no different, I bought a packet of Chee Cheong Fun from the famous stall in Canning Garden coffeeshop, just opposite the market....

Just the dry version... sweet and spicy sauce...

And I was satisfied... 

Till...

I received some images in my WhatsApp... 

"Luring" me to go and have these.... 

Otak Otak Muar style!

Oh oh, I couldn't resist... and an hour later, I was on my way to Farlim to meet them up... 

I really couldn't find this place if not for my foodie friends who told me to wait at Tin City...

This stall is situated at a small lane just behind Kapitan Restaurant in Farlim...

These were what we ordered.... 

And I ended up swallowing another bowl of non-spicy noodles!

The "Fei Yuen" are the ones I really like.....

And these marble fish balls.... I heard they are 20 sen each.... 

I think I swallowed many of them!

Plus some freshly fried stuff.... and we were almost done.... 

Yes Almost.....

If not for this Otak Otak in the midst of grilling.... 

And we ended up ordering another 10 as a side-kick...

That was my so-called lunch... 

The five of us went back to our respective homes patting our tummies...

Rawang Famous Steamed Fish Restaurant, Ipoh

A VERY COOLING TUESDAY NIGHT IN IPOH after a bout of rain shower in the evening... It stopped right in time for us to go for our dinner here at the Rawang Famous Steam Fish Restaurant. Its location is along the Jalan Lapangan Symphony, same row with Symphony Suites Hotel opposite the Sam Poh Tong Caves.

I heard from my "foodie friends" that this place is famous for their steamed fish, something similar to the Lan Jie Fei Chow Yu in Rawang.  Not sure whether both are related or not... anyway, this evening, we made our way there to give it a try....

It was almost 7pm when we arrived at the place....

The crowd was already there but we managed to get a table near the entrance... 

This is "home-brought" chinese tea from May...

Very nice smoothing tea... 

She always bring along her precious "tea leaves"

As for the dishes, we ordered accordingly to the lady's recommendation...

For the five of us, these were what we were served....

Ham Heong Kai aka "Nice fragrantly cooked" chicken....

Some mixed vegetables as recommended...

This is very nice... Sambal Petai.....

And their famous Steamed Talapia....

We ordered not one.. but two pieces...

It cost RM22 for each....

Dinner on the whole cost RM93....

Our Tete-a-Tete At Petit Mary Patisserie, Ipoh

WOKE UP VERY EARLY THIS MORNING.. I HAVE TO GO TO THE OFFICE!!

No, I am not dreaming of going to the office... it gives me the shivers now to think of the office work... hahaha... but one feels good to go there to collect "goodies!"  When I was in Johor, I received a call from the State Secretariate staff asking whether I would be around on the 14.9.2015 to attend a retirees' function but so unfortunate that I was down south at that time that I could not be able to attend.... Oh well....

So now I am back in Ipoh, I went to the SUK to collect the retiree's goodies... Well, I did receive a watch, a very nice one too, a certificate plus an incentive.... very thankful for the Blessings!  And to commemorate the occasion, I went for breakie with my ex-colleagues to Jelapang, a treat was given by Elin and the second round of food was taken in Petit Mary Patisserie immediately almost after the first one.

Everything seems to be "petite"

I like... cos I could take varieties!

They cost RM2.50 per piece... 

And since we were still full, we could just eat a bit here and there...

Now I know where to have some nice continental food... 

Lots of choices and nice pastries desserts to choose from...

Will certainly come by again....

Our Homecooked Dishes And Food In Taman Pelangi

THE KITCHEN IN JOHOR IS TEMPORARY CLOSED FOR NOW.... The cook has gone back to her hometown again.  From now on, it will be opened only during the weekends when the owner is not working, he prefers to cook a One Meal dish for himself, a very simple eater, I can say....

 His own homecooked dinner... 

He said tasty cos it is his own cooking...

And what's more, his mom is not that great either! 

hahahahaa...

Yes, each time I cook, I take pictures of the dishes so that I can make room for improvement next time... :)

"Lui Char" ..... not too bad... a lot of ingredients with rice underneath... RM6

Fried Koayteow Johor style.... tasty too!  RM6

And not to be missed at Taman Pelangi is the rojak!

And drowned the food with a big bowl of gingko dessert....

For three bowls of gingko and one plate of rojak, it cost RM17...

Prices are reasonable... not too bad...

A WEEK AGO JUST AS WE WERE GOING OUT, two men approached our door carrying a big box and asking for "Reanaclaire."  Yes, I was expecting some stuff from the Klang valley, but being cautious too, I told the man to put the box right outside my door and just passed the acknowledgement receipt for me to sign through the grills.  Am I being paranoid?  I guess I am... Anyway, the two men are genuine despatchers and after signing, they left ....

I received some products from Enviro Home, Yay!  I was told that they are Eco-friendly For a Happier and Healthier Family!  Nice quote they have.
