Precooked Meals During MCO Days

NO MORE DINING IN..... since MCO and my neighbour buys back for himself and for us.  I told him that I eat anything edible, no special requests, whatever to his convenience.  And at times when I am lazy to cook, I also will tell him in advance and he will buy back dishes for dinner as well.  LOL.... Where to find such a neighbour, right?  

For one fine morning, he bought Hakka noodles.... 

Comes with these too....

Additional roasted pork for lunch!

Yes, for two meals, breakfast and lunch.... 

How not to put on weight???

On another day, he bought back black vinegar trotter.....

And chicken in Chinese Wine....

Both of these dishes cost RM18 in total.....

I just have to steam some rice....

And these are for my dinner on another occasion.....

Yes, I do look forward to lazy evenings when I don't really have to cook much!

Belated Mother's Day Dinner

ACTUALLY BELATED POST NOT BELATED DINNER... LOL... 

Forgot to post  up these until I saw them in my album a moment ago, these were taken a day before Ipoh was imposed with MCO.  And these dishes were ordered a day before the restaurant was closed until further notice!  

My son ordered these from Yuk Sou Hin Restaurant in Weil Hotel.  When we went to pick up, we were told that the next day onwards, the restaurant would be closed during the MCO period until further notice.  Not only this restaurant, I heard many of the eateries, cafes and some restaurants also take this opportunity to close for two weeks.  No dining in will affect many restaurants/cafes alike, business will be very slow and result in losses.  

Coming back to my Mother's Day dinner, these were what were picked up... 

Two variety of dim sum....

Sweet and sour prawns....

Their prawns are big and fresh... 

We could not finish the meaty meal... 

The next day I just cooked these....

Mixed vegetables.... 

And I sauteed the duck with lots of ginger and garlic.... 

I wanted to put in cilipadi... but unfortunately, there wasn't any... 

Our dinner for the next day.... 

Heard that there will be stricter MCO conditions...

Whatever they are, Just Stay home and Be Safe...

Online Wholesale Shopping

Those days when my girl came back for her semester holidays, she brought along a suitcase with her.  As usual I thought inside her suitcase, most of them would be for laundry and washing.  Little did I know when I opened it, most of clothing inside were newly bought by her!  I was indeed taken aback because the place where she studies, there is only one shopping mall in her area.  How and where did she manage to buy so many new clothing for this festive season?  And I got the answer from her almost immediately when I saw the new dresses and blouses.  She told me that she did most of her shopping online, among them is one $5 store!  It is selling a lot of stuff from accessories to clothing.  And with just a few simple clicks using her laptop and the only consequence she dislikes is that her bank account will get lighter and lighter after that.  LOL...

Anyway, she explained to me that she bought these summer wholesale clothing on behalf of her friends as well, they just have to pick and choose whatever they like and she will use her account to log in.  Okay, this website is called Wholesale7!  From what I see here, they sell wholesale products, it is the place where wholesale clothing and the hottest trends in fashion with rock bottom wholesale prices and quality guaranteed.  It also has a wide selection of fashion clothing for all ladies, women and young adults, ranging from tops, dresses, skirts, jeans, pants, shorts, t-shirts, blouses, sweaters, jackets and even sexy bikini set as well! Not only that, they have a massive selection of accessories as well, that includes sunglasses, cosmetics, fragrances and a wide range of wholesale cosmetics, in other words, whatever we want, this website has it all!

No wonder my girl and her friends are so into this online shopping website.  They can buy either in one piece or in a pack of 6 or 12, the prices are cheaper if bought in bulk.  Well, when I scrutinized her purchases she got in her suitcase, I have to agree with her.  They were indeed cheaper that what she gets from the shopping malls.  In fact I am also eyeing some dresses and I hope I can still fit into some of them!  I have been eating a lot since this pandemic and I am afraid that these summer dresses might not be suitable for my rounded body... LOL... Anyway, no harm browsing and imagining what I can squeeze in into! 

Freshly Baked With Love From Breadlady

BUNS AND PIES... freshly baked with Love.... printed on a brown paper bag, delivered by her handsome son right to my doorstep!  LOL....

Saw it on Facebook, one of my friends put up the fresh curry buns she ordered.  Yours truly saw and salivated and the next thing, I have the details I needed.  During the weekdays, the Breadlady has different kinds of buns and on Saturdays, she makes shepherd pies.  Since I got the details on Friday, I quickly messaged her and ordered 5 packets!  No, I did not eat them all, I ordered for my friends too, they have the same common interest as I do.  LOL...

Each set of shepherd pie comes with 2 fresh buns costing RM15.

I like the buns too...fresh and soft...

One is filled with cranberries and apple..

And the other one is grains and nuts....

I ordered again for Monday, ie. today....

Chai Boey/Mustard Green Soup

AIKKSSS... WHAT A NAME FOR A DISH?

And usually this Mixture-Of-Everything dish is everyone's favourite in my family and I am sure many of us love it as well!

Normally this dish is created after when the festive season is over.  Any leftover of dishes are not to be wasted, they can just go into the pot at one go, add in blanched mustard leaves, dried chillies, tamarind, tomatoes, lemon grass, ginger... 

As for me, I do not have leftover food so I made a special request to my neighbour who goes out very early each morning.  First question to him, "Do you like Chap Choy?" His reply... "Yes, I love that dish!"  Good, in that case, you have to buy some the roasted pork trotter for me!   LOL.... 

He ended up buying a pork trotter and of course, I reimbursed him, he is already so nice to go out early to catch the roasted pork man.... LOL.. Pork trotter cost around RM23 and mustard leaves around RM10.  Never mind the money, the One Dish Dinner satisfied our cravingsss!!

Everything dumped in and get them cooking.....

Boiled till everything turns soft....

Very appetizing....

Covid-19 Rants And Bakesville

SPIKING HIGH...  Every each day I receive worrying messages about Covid-19, how it has affects many lives in Malaysia, a country now almost having the same dilemma as in India.... sounds kind of frightening, right?  Not only that, what is more worrying is the health frontline people, their lives are at risk each day in the hospital while we have the comforts of our own home and what is most worrying is that they might have to play God one day, who to live and who to die... due to the insufficient of ICU places....  and the list goes on and on.... 

Every now and then, I used to think back.... before 2020, life was very normal for us... and then in a matter of days, our lifestyle have change so drastically.  How can we play a part in the midst of this pandemic?  Stay home, stay home and stay home... for us retirees, this can be possible, however, for those who are bread winners, it is quite an impossible task.  Anyway, I wish all of us continue to be optimistic and strong, stay positive and pray.... 

Not sure why I am 'talking' about this today.... just came to my thoughts and I pen it down.... for future reading.... 

Back to my food post, I ordered two buns from Bakesville Bakery....

Rolled oats bun with tuna fillings.... 

They were still warm and soft upon arrival...

Looks kind of plain, right?

But not so after adding Avocado in.... 

So nice and yammy!

Yes.... and very filling too!

DIY Peanuts Pancake At Home

CRAVINGS ACCOMPLISHED... though not as tasty nor as impressive as those sold outside.  

Felt like eating peanuts pancake aka Tai Kau Meen yesterday, but thinking of driving out for just two pieces, forget it.... The thought of taking precautions, SOPs, bathing immediately upon reaching home.... oh... those hassles and trouble, I ended up taking out flour, baking soda, one egg, sugar and crushed peanuts instead.

I made two big pieces of this size....

Added in some butter for flavour... 

Lots of peanuts but very much less sugar.... 

And my cravings are satisfied.... 

Two Big Pieces.... and one given to my furry family member....

Hope she enjoyed it as much as I did....
