Penang For A Purpose

phewwww... I am so exhausted and tired now... it is 9.49pm and I just reached Ipoh an hour ago.
My kids and I were in Penang yesterday, we were there for a purpose, besides holidaying...

For some medical reasons, we were there in the hospital for nearly the whole morning...

Penangnites sure know what this hospital is, right? Yes, solely for cancer patients... I was there for two days, no, I am not stricken with cancer... but while I was there, it made me realise how precious life is. Patients are struggling to stay alive and it saddens me when I heard of people taking their own lives while they are still healthy and normal.

It is not a surprise or shock anymore to see so many cancer patients nowadays. What is still unclear is why.... what is the reason behind these days? Why are more and more people prone to having cancer? Is it the food that we consume or is it the environment that we are living in? Stress? Hereditary? Having cancer is the most dreaded disease....

  2. I spent two weeks (on and off)in the hospital when my mom was hospitalised for cancer (surgery and post chemo) last year. I could see beds were full most of the time with mostly cancer patients, some struggling to stay alive. *sighs*

My mom looks all healthy now, just underwent a CT scan and the result came back clear but cancer is an unpredictable disease as we all know. Keeping our fingers crossed.

  4. Keep praying. Wishing the patient strength and recovery. My closely related family member in US is not spared of this disease either.

  5. My mom passed away when I was 17, she was a breast cancer victim. I know how painful, tough and torture one suffered from this life threatening desease.

  6. I don't know, Claire... which one is more worst... cancer itself or the treatments. The treatments are equally poisonous and killing as cancer. I pray everyday that myself, and everyone that I know won't have the big C.

  7. It's the air, the stuffs we ate, the radiation we exposed to, the stresses of life - lack of sleep, work long hours and etc. The healthy cells gave way to the 'siao' cells....

  9. Yes, this post is one I can really sympathise with! My mom got lung cancer and bladder cancer both! And my husband had prostate cancer and skin cancer. They know that certain kinds of food increases our risk for certain types of cancer. For instance, dairy products raise the risk for prostate cancer. The main cause still seems to be a mystery. But what were you doing in the hospital for two days? A sick friend?

  11. Clair: I'm a Prostate Cancer survivor, my uncle died form it at 52. I think a big part of more people with Cancer is that the doctors know much more and are able to treat it.

  13. Ya, I dread it... A few in my family had that including my FIL. I pray everyday that I would just drop dead or go to sleep and never wake up - spare me from the disease...and if I should get it, let me die soonest - God is merciful.

  14. I know how this disease impact our life. I lost a younger sister to it. Majority people tend to take things for granted, but being close to cancer patients makes me realise that life is beautiful and valuable.

I'm so weak compare to them. They are very determine, and real strong to battle the disease.

I strongly suggest Ling Zhi. It can be taken together with his doctor prescrvtion. This is my personal believe. If I m struck with Cancer one day, I will take MonaVie, Ling Zhi and whatever the doc's medication.
