A Long Journey To Taiping!

From Ipoh to Taiping, it takes around thirty to forty minutes from one toll to another but to my disappointment and dismay, the journey took me THREE HOURS during my previous trip!

Started off from my house to the toll, it was very smooth but just after paying the toll, driving up the mountain, the row of cars were at a standstill.... crawling like a snail up the mountain. Never had I before been stuck like this... some cars were stalled half way because it was really a long stretch uphill, then through the tunnel and down the mountain... all in all, my car was crawling by little by little... I can see my petrol tank meter dropping one bar by bar.... Gosh!

see, I even have time to take pictures with my handphone..

this is the time motorbikes are a welcoming sight.. .

crawling uphill... all the way till downhill
then finally saw a lorry being overturned at some point..
and the debris was all over on the highway...
that was the reason... aiyah!!

Finally... eventually... can see the greens in Taiping..

a welcoming sight...

exhausting 3 hours journey...
but all was forgotten when the Greens welcomed us..
What a Day!

  1. Did you go to Taiping on 2 July (Saturday)? I was on the way to Ipoh along the south-bound lane. Saw the massive jam, probably one of the worst...

  3. Wow...what a journey! Good thing you have enough petrol! I was in Taiping many, many years ago. Love the food there. The cuttlefish with kangkong was very good and so is the kwayteow soup and rojak. Miss all the food.

  13. What an awful traffic jam!! I hope it wasn't too hot!! But your destination looks lovely!! Phil's blood pressure is lower than yours and always had been, you will be fine. It is so much better to have it too low than too high, I have to take lots of medicine because mine has always been too high, dangerous. By the way, don't even think of donating blood, they won't let Phil. You are lucky that you don't have to watch how much salt you eat!!
