I Like Taang Shifu!

I was given a special treat last night, a scrumptious dinner at Taang Shi Fu Restaurant in AEON Ipoh Station 1... we didn't plan to take our dinner but when we passed by this logo, it attracted us and we went in....
Is there a franchise in KL or anywhere else besides Ipoh?
There was a queue waiting when we finished our dinner..
the ambience was not at all..
very "chinese-sey" if you know what I mean...
free appetizer...
sliced fresh guava with "kam pei"(orange skin)
the "black chicken" with wolfberries and slices of ginseng...
that comes with these condiments..
you can choose white rice or brown rice..
I opted for brown for health reasons.. hahaa...

Steamed aubergine with X.O. scallop sauce
Quite a large portion for both of us...RM13.90
I love this!
Fish Maw with Cod Fish in claypot...
A generous portion of fish maw....

this was my dessert...
Snow Jelly with Gingko - RM8.90
(to improve my memory, if it ever does!)

I wouldn't mind coming here again next time..
Will bring my kids to savour some of the dishes here too..
Their Mi-Sua noodles looks good too.. must try...

As for last night, many thanks to TC
for the exotic meal......

  1. Oh... I like this one! Been there twice, all the nutritious and healthy food.

  2. Wow still that many people at Aeon ya?

    Have a nice evening!

  3. You're into nutritious herbal soups? Should have taken you to try our Foochow ones here - the pek ting eyok and the char bee lau... I'm sure you would love those...

  4. Taang Shifu has quite a number of outlets in the Klang Valley. Never been to this outlet but have been patronising Taang Shifu since the opening of their One Utama outlet.

  5. Few years ago I tried in jj Melaka...

  9. Some of the best things are not planned...are on impulse!

  10. Got in Klang Valley. But i dont go there cos they got durian dessert n the smell puts me off :(

  11. I don't know why,I don't fancy all these eateries anymore,,,, those like O town and all these sifus sifus names,,,,I think they are overrated and overpriced too.

sometimes hawkers food are so much better than these type of eateries

hey have a great week ahead ya

  12. they have it in KL, but I didn't go yet.. maybe one day la.. my family don't really like to eat at places like this.. they prefer 'tai chow' at all time..

  13. Yes, a few outlets in KL and PJ but I think it's overpriced. Still, once in a while eating there is good! : )

  14. Food looks good and very nutritious. Droolingggggggggg!!!!!

  15. Just from the look of the vicinity, I could understand why you got easily attracted by the restaurant. Even more with its unique cultural meals with uncommon main ingredients. It's also accompanied with special condiments that helps on appetizing customers for more.

  16. foongpc: i agreed with u. I tried before once it' the uptowna branch. Overpriced. Food so so only for uptown branch. some more waiter n waitress LCLY geh =X

  17. Fong Lye is much more better than TaangSifu ^_^

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t
