Sleepless Night In IPOH

Busy and Tension again! I think I have mentioned many times in my previous posts on kitchen renovation. Well, it is time to do it after procrastinating for so long-a-time already.   I am always worried when it rains especially heavy ones. The water will come dripping down the side wall and each time it rains, I have to get ready the mops and lots of rags... very tiring, right?

Firstly, I went asking around for contractors... but managed to get one quotation only and I think his rates is quite reasonable... so I felt no need to ask around anymore... (like to get work done up fast!)  And renovation started yesterday.....
First day.....
Before the contractor left, he said "Better don't rain today"
And I got worried.....
And true enough, it started pouring this evening...
I came home to find my kitchen nearly flooded...
The rain water came dripping down on all sides....
Never before I felt so frantic!
My kitchen drawers are all wet and some are spoilt..
I have to check out some websites and maybe I have to order new ones,
something like these 36 inch Drawer Slides
Quickly lined up all the pails to "catch" water....
And called the contractor screaming....  "HELP! HELP!!"
He came almost immediately after my SOS call...
Kept assuring me that tomorrow will be alright...
All holes will be repaired... all sides will be patched up....
As for tonight...
It will be a Sleepless Night in Ipoh for me...

  8. Why didn't he cover it with a large tarp, and anchor it down with something heavy so the sides wouldn't blow up and off?

  19. From your photos, I cannot figure out what renovation you are doing. Even for the brick walls that have yet to be cemented, the contractor can covered up with those orange and blue plastic first to keep the rain water out.
