The festive season is still in the air, I could still hear fireworks for the past two nights. Deepavali or the "festival of lights" is a five-day Hindu festival and is one of the most important festivals of the year to be celebrated by the Hindus. I love going to the shopping malls during this festive time, they will be decorated with beautiful "kolams" such as these below.
These are called Kolam, it is a form of painting that is drawn using coloured rice powder, chalk or chalk powder and white rock powder. Aren't they beautifully made? I am sure it takes a lot creativity and patience to finish a Kolam.
