Hello Penang!

I really cannot find my camera here in Ipoh... I am going to make a trip back to Penang to look for it... Such a pity to lose it, I hope I can be able to retrace where I last left it. Sigh... it is impossible to find it again, no doubt about that. It is just too bad, I have myself to blame, due to my short memory, I cannot remember where I last placed it. There are many pictures inside the camera, such sentimental ones too... sigh...

Anyway, I am back here in Penang... I will comfort myself with lots of food stuff again! This time I am going to use my old faithful iPhone 3 to take the pictures....
My driver and Penang Bridge....
Food galore time...
Koay Teow Tng in Sungai Nibong....
This one is Fried Chee Cheong Fun...
I still prefer the normal Fried Koay Teow...

  9. I am so jealous that you visit Penang so often. I never heard of fried chee Cheong fun. I know it is actually called Fried Hor Fun and both look the same.

On other matters: I think you got confused with Chengdu & Chengde in my blog. I replied your comments.

    Happy Weekend to you.

  10. Hello Claire,

Wow, it is so nice to be able to go to Penang as often as you do. The bun with fried egg looks tasty - are there actually 4 buns there?

I have a soft spot for rolled chee cheong fun. I think I have eaten stir fried rolled chee cheong fun in KL before and it is quite like char koay teow except that they substitute rolled chee cheong fuun with koay teow..

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Caring And Sharing At Limestone, Regal Lodge, Ipoh

IMPROMPTU GATHERING.... Nothing was planned beforehand, it was only at the last minute that we received call to have lunch at Limestone Cafe, inside Regal Lodge.  It was my first time there to have set lunch.  The menu prices were reasonable, around RM15.90 for the main dish, RM3 for a bowl of soup and RM2 for ice cream.  Other than that, coffee, tea and soft drinks are free.
We were there not so much for the food but for the ambiance... we practically had the whole cafe to ourselves during that lunch hour.  Only one or two tables were occupied and we spent more than two hours there since it was a Friday long hour lunch for my working colleagues.  After a few months absence from me, it was wonderful to catch up with my ex-colleagues again!
I was super hungry by lunch time and I felt like eating almost anything in the menu. We ended up ordering one main dish each and then sharing them with one another so that we could taste a bit of this and that.....
I felt like eating Aglio Oli…

Famous Wanton Mee At New Hoong Kee, Bandar Sri Damansara

BREAKFAST FEAST..  Best meal of the day is always my first meal because I know I am able to tuck in as much as my stomach can accept.  I eat a lot in the mornings and then slowly dwindle by the end of the day.  As the saying goes, eat like a king in the morning and like a pauper in the evenings.  This is what I normally do nowadays, not because I wanted to, but it is my own body system that tune me this way.  Though I deny I am old but the body says otherwise... LOL...

On this morning, we went to New Hoong Kee in Bandar Sri Damansara, my sibling said this is currently his favourite place.  And after trying, I know why.... the food we ordered, all turned out good and tasty, even the curry reminded me of my good old days!
Managed to catch the name otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell this story now...  My type of curry... I can go without the chicken... Just the other ingredients will do fine for me.. I like the way they cook this curry... Heard the BBQ pork is tasty too... melt in …
