Amazing Marine World Nobbies Centre, Phillip Island

Penguins only come out at night, so we were told... their eyes cannot take the bright lights, it will spoil their eyesight. To while away the time, the tour bus driver took us to two tourist places. One of them is Maro as in my previous post and the second one is Noobies Centre.  We stopped by here to immerse ourselves in the interactive displays and explore the specatcular coastal scenery from the cliff top boardwalks.
Getting down from the bus and into the sunny and cooling weather...

If not for this picture, I wouldn't remember the name of this place...

She is using the ‘seal spy’ cameras to zoom in on the seals....
All oceanside view along Phillip Island...
Somebody is really relaxing here...enjoying the cool air sea  breeze...
Watching the waves splashes by the seashore...
The sand were very fine and soft... I feel that I could fly...
Just for show... Hahahaaa....
Cool guy enjoying the wind...
My Do-Re-Mi... Someone is starting to feel the chill....
We were told to walk on the pathway and not on the grass...
If we don't follow instructions, we might be bitten by snake... ahhhhhh.....
Just enjoy looking at the scenery....
Just like in the postcards, the scenery is breathtaking...
Can stand here longer if not for the time factor and the weather...
My son is not bad in photography, huh...
Credit goes to my old faithful cybershot Sony too!
Cover my cold ears... or was it that my hat might get blown away...

I remember this picture... taken by one old couple who happened to pass by...
She asked us whether we wanted a picture to be taken together....
So nice of her....
I was told to climb up and sit beside my kids...
But after a few tries, I gave up...
I wouldn't want to land on the other side of the shore...
LOL...

    1. I am very clumsy one you know... and I am afraid of heights whatever... here is what I found out..
Penguins have very sensitive eyesight so white torches/flashlights cannot be used, nor camera flashes, so our experienced and knowledgeable guides take groups of visitors into the colony after dark, equipped with specially adapted dimming red torches which provide a softer light than white. It is also believed that Penguins don’t see the red spectrum so our torches do not bother the birds. Since we are in the colony at night time the camera flash is very disturbing to the penguins, so we ask that your camera flash be turned off whilst on the tour.

  4. Can see from your photos must be very windy and quite cold. Are there many snakes around that you can spot one so easily?
