Home Improvement Drills

I really don't like renovations to be done in the house especially when we are still staying in it.  But  no choice, I had to be around when they came and did it yesterday.   Yes, it was long overdue already, finally I decided to get it done over with, now my whose house is like "railway track"... wiring here and there... every corner... it is not a nice sight...

When they start drilling, I shuddered... wouldn't want to imagine the mess that the drilling caused...  but no choice, when they finished one part, I cleaned up... that made it easier in the end....

Actually I didn't want to do that, the worker suggested it... he said, "Give me the broom, let me sweep for you so that the dust won't be everywhere......."  Once he said that, I quickly took the broom and cleaned up...

Drilling time....
Messy time....
Dusty everywhere...
SOS!!!
HELP!!
As they worked, I cleaned as much as I could...
Finally when they were done, I mopped the floor three times..
But I still could feel the dust under my feet....
Am I eccentric?
I guess I am....
I had a Good sleep last night... too exhausted already!

  2. Oh, a big headache, the knocking & drilling, just like last year when I renovate (extend) my kitchen. Worst part, everyday has to sweep the dust, mop the floor and next day repeat the same thing. Mine took one month plus to finish. Can you imagine?

  7. I am also very scared of having to fix things once moved in. I read somewhere that to keep vacuuming as the person drills so that the dust will not fly everywhere. Aircon for the bedroom?

  12. aiyoh, i am just wondering will the workers curse you in heart, because you were cleaning while they were working.. it make me feel like this case: you go into a shop, you are browsing the clothes and the sales girl is following behind you, whatever you touched, she will want to rearrange them even she doesn't need to.. haha!! but probably i just think too much, the worker was indeed very considerate to ask for a broom from you :)

  16. I hate those renovation and dust. Usually those workers will use vacuum cleaner to vacuum the dust while they drill to minimise the dust flying around.

And I understand the mopping process. I remember I mopped 3 times too when moved into my new home and yet still can feel the dust around. I also had a good night sleep that night. Lol.
