My Homecooked Dishes For Four

Days when I do not take outside food, my homecooked meals are very simple.  Give me a plate of fried rice and I am satisfied with my dinner.  That goes the same with my girl too...

She loves Salmon to be eaten with fried rice...
Nowadays she helps me to cook in the kitchen
And both of us are very contented with a plate of fried rice in our hands...
Last Sunday I managed to whoop up a dinner for four....
No elaborated presentation...
I am hopeless in that... LOL....
No tomatoes... so it was just diced ginger on fish... RM20
No carrots ... so it was just dried shrimps with cabbage...RM5
No eggs ... so the Spam is just Spam alone.  RM15
The meal came to approximately RM40 for 4 people..
Not too cheap too, right?

  3. I am hopeless in presentation too. With that steamed fish alone, I can finish a whole plate of rice easily. Main point is everyone is full & satisfied.

  4. That fish plus that spam, how to be cheap leh? You can try my fried rice recipes...so you will have something different everytime. Otherwise, you will get bored of your fried rice after a while,. I'm sure.

    1. Cabbage looks fine, nothing much one can go with fried SPAM slices...fish is ok too but for me, that's a lot of ginger there - I usually cut into long thin strips and add a bit of chopped garlic to counter the fish smell...and add sliced chili and Chinese celery sprigs or chopped spring onions for a bit of colour.

    2. Yes, will certainly try your fried rice varieties! Must keep more things in the fridge.. mine is very limited stock.. eggs also need to replenish one of these days! hahaha...
Cabbage is overdue one... so the colour looks out already.. I put diced ginger because my girl doesn't like the bigger slices than that.. she will push it aside... but with diced, she will eat.. hahaha...

  10. I know you must be a wonderful cook, Claire! I have seen what you cook in the past. And your palate must be very refined from eating out at so many different places. I would love to taste your cooking. We also love salmon and rice, I cook it from time to time.
