My Not-So-Healthy Dinner In Gunong Rapat, Ipoh

Yes, I know I am not being obedient this evening... when my friends came to pick me up for dinner, they suggested going to Gunong Rapat for fried noodles.  Fried noodles?!?  Oh dear, my poor throat.. but I didn't want to be a damp blanket because another friend was waiting for us at the stall...

Leaving no choice, I followed suit, silently praying that my poor body will be able to endure the "heat" from the "wok."
We reached here around 7pm... it was still bright then....
This stall is just opposite a primary school in Gunong Rapat
and they used charcoal to fry the noodles...
A rare sight nowadays....
We sat as far as we can to avoid the heat from the wok...
Famous for their Sambal Belacan... Great combination with the noodles!
My "unhealthy" dinner for tonight....
Cockles, prawns and eggs with meehoon and flat noodles...
Cost around RM4.50 per plate...
Another not so healthy kind of dessert....
Plate of rojak (various fruits) from a stall in Perak Stadium food court...
Small portion cost RM7...
Dinner is completed....
Hope my voice will still be "around" tomorrow....

  1. The fried noodles looks too good to resist. Hope your throat is alright after taking the fried stuff. Drink tea to get rid of the heatiness in your body.

  3. Stir fry only. Not deep fried so your throat should be ok if you drink more leong sui after that.

  11. Haha, I am definitely more obedient than you...I won't mess with a sore throat especially...it can take so long to recover! Hope you get well soon :-)
The prawns do look very juicy, and it's amazing that they have five of these in a plate of Char Koay Teow! The prawns in Penang's Char Koay Teow are larger but they are very rare and precious though :-P
Take good care, and stay away from unhealthy food! ;-)
