Our Peranakan Lunch At Kocik Kitchen, Malacca

We checked out from St Gildes Hotel Mid Valley around noon... no proper breakfast, each of us just gulped down a bun and off we went.  We wanted to leave 'space' for lunch at the historical town, Malacca!
Forgotten how long it has been since I last visited this state.....
Passing by the red row of shophouses....
Historical sights....
Christ Church....
Beautiful and striking... right in middle of the town and on the way to Jonkers Street...
After some minutes with the parking and searching for food...
we finally managed to get seated at this place called Kocik Kitchen!
Finally get to taste the Creamy Cendol!
Malacca style!
First time taking Ayam Ponteh....
I told my girl that I would do this one day...
She looked at me in disbelief...
Alright, I will take up the challenge!
Fish with Sambal...
Cute Otak Otak Balls...
Cincaluk Omelet...
Love this...!!!
My favourite Vege!
We were so hungry that everything was finished to the brim....
What a Peranakan Lunch...
Love to come back again...
Hopefully not few years later...
hahahaa...
Ok, as for the bill, it came to around RM100

  3. Nice?

I went to Mako - used to be the best in the 90's when I first went, not anymore. I can cook better. Guess the old folks have died or retired, others taking over...maybe even somebody employed, not family.

And so many people, had to put name down in a list...to wait for one's turn, for them to come and call. I wanted to leave...but my good friend, Mandy, said we might as well wait since we went all the way and were there already. Luckily we did not have to wait too long.

  4. Malacca, food heaven paradise. Owh, scrumptous nyonya dishes. At one time, people crazy about their chicken rice balls but for me, I still prefer the loose chicken rice. Love the cincaluk omelette & veg. Guess you have a great time in Malacca doing your jalan jalan cari makan.

  5. Been there in 1998 after finished my college. Remember that red building very well. Haha.

I dont think I ever try ayam ponteh before. I thought go to Melacca is to have its chicken rice balls? Hahaha.

What is on the top of lady fingers? I love lady fingers too and if hubby is at home, I will just boil my lady fingers and then strain them. Fry lots of garlics and pour on top of the lady fingers. Add some oyster sauce too. Simple and delicious.

  13. Its a pity Malacca is so far down south. If its near to Ipoh, sure will take a drive to eat all these delicious dishes. Have an enjoyable trip and stay in JB.
