Simple Spicy Dinner At Portuguese Village, Malacca

FOR ME, SHOPPING IS A NO-NO IN MALACCA... Firstly, I don't think I need to buy anything to wear and secondly, I walk as slow as a "tortoise"... true, I am still learning how to walk properly and normal again, walking long distance from one shop to another, my legs will definitely lose their "battery."  hahahahaha...  While I chilled out in the hotel room, the rest went out for their shopping spree around the vicinity of Hatten Hotel...

As for me in the room alone, I quickly called up one of my classmates who is residing in Malacca... First question... "Where to get good nyonya food?"  However she recommended that I should go and try out Portuguese Village... Sounds kind of interesting... Since we had never been there, the idea of trying the food there sounds great!
With the help of the GPS, Andy drove to the destination...
The junction turning into the Portuguese Village....
Easily found our way here...
Lots of ample car park....
It was turning dusk..
The sunset was just right ahead...
Beautiful scene at this time of the day....
Low tide....
And the cameras... I mean handphones... started to click at one another...
And the Portuguese stalls....

We sat the Stall number 1 as recommended by my friend...
Quenching our thirst with this.... slurpppp.....
We just ordered out from the menu given to us...
Clams with ginger...
My favourite!
The red sambal was super spicy!!
Portuguese Curry Chicken...
Another super spicy item!
Thank goodness we ordered one non-spicy dish...
For this course of meal and fresh juices, the bill came to RM73
These dishes are not "Portuguese" enough...
Next time we should try more exotic ones...
hehehehee...
And as usual, a picture to show our "footmark" at the Portuguese village....
Next destination to complete the day is Jonkers Street
and the famous Nadeje Mille Crepes!

  1. Who's that? Your classmate? She looks so young. Or is she Andy's girlfriend? Wink! Wink! Been to the Portuguese Village a few times but I don't remember eating there. Loved the Portuguese grilled fish at Mid Valley though, very nice, very spicy.

  2. I have eaten in that Portugese Settlement area twice. I remember their food was nice and slightly very Eurasian styled with popular Ikan Bakar and signature Cardo Verde soup. They used a lot of cincaluk and the famous Devil's Curry & Egg tarts were in the menu too.

  3. The only thing Portuguese must be the curry chicken. Nevertheless, you enjoyed very good food!
