Public Toilet Survival Kit

MY LAST TRIP TO OVERSEAS WAS MY EUROPE TOUR in October.....  Two days prior to my trip, I fell down and fractured my right leg.  After doing some X-rays, my ankle was cracked and I was advised to do an operation to "screw" it back together.  But I did not accept being operated on because my trip was due two days later.  I told the doctor of my dilemma and he has no choice to but put a heavy cast on my right leg.  Two days later I flew to Amsterdam in a green cast and moved about in a wheelchair.  Yes, that was Me!

Never knowing the challenges that lied ahead of me during my trip, I just went ahead with it.  I have two "nurses" with me, one is my son and the other my ex-colleague.  Both of them took care of me during our three weeks planned holiday, I am so thankful to them till today... But the biggest challenge I have to face for myself is the TOILET!  Each place we landed and stayed, the first thing I quickly went through was the toilet where I could take my bath and so on... Thank goodness, some are user friendly and there are a few which I have to use my "skill" to do my "business".... I need to hop in because the wheelchair is too "big" to enter.  And there are some toilets especially public ones where I have to stand on one leg and using all the strength I could muster, I cleaned the bowl with whatever tissue available.  It was really difficult at some parts of the places we have been to.  That was why I said, a Real Challenge.

When I came back to Malaysia with still a cast on my leg, the challenges are almost the same when it comes to public toilets.  I guess many of us can imagine how "gross" some toilets may be, right?  With my "one-legged" condition, I have the privilege of using disabled toilets so many times and till today, I am still utilizing them.  It is a better preference compared to other normal toilets but of course, there are some places which are pretty gross!   There was one time that the "brown lumpy thing" were still floating on top of the bowl.... urghhhhh... and the flush just couldn't work!  I quickly hopped out from there and took a lift up to another disabled toilet.  And there are some which has black and dirty shoe marks on top of the bowl.  Oh dear, are the bowls for squatting or sitting, by the way?

I know I shouldn't expect much from public toilets and it is only up to us users to "minimise" the "grossiness" in them.  What I am going to do now is to take along this "Toilet Survival Kit" whenever I go on my outstation trips....
Looks like a First Aid kit, no doubt....
Sort of...
Once opened, it consists of what we ladies need most...
Wet tissues... dry tissues.....
There are some optional in case one is in the Most Gross Toilet in the whole world...
A mask, a handbag hanger and a plaster... just in case.....
hahahahaa....
But most of all, we need this most of all!!

Talking about toilets, there is one HK drama that related.... this guy went to the toilet and did his "big business" and when he has finally done it, he started to look for toilet paper... unfortunately there was not even a piece left....................  aahhhhhh!!!!!

  1. Whether toilets are clean or dirty, WE are the ones who make them so. I am amazed at how the more civilised people in the big towns and cities are not toilet-trained. Maybe they are too busy , running after money, no time for these what-they-consider trivial matters or matters that will not bring them any money. I am always impressed by the toilets in the small rural towns and bazaars, always so clean

...unlike say, LCCT, dunno the new one, never been - KLIA would not be much better if they do not employ people to clean...clean...and clean...all the time. What a shame!

  5. I love the toilets in Japan with that bidet that keeps them all dry and good smelling. I saw that packet of Kleenex last night at AEON. Should have bought to try.
