Turn Your Garden into a Tranquil Space in a Few Quick Steps

Gardens can often be places with lots of activity. It can be where the kids run around, the dog plays fetch or birds flock to feeders. However, it's also one of the best places in a home to relax. You can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, reading a book, having a chat, or pottering around. If your garden doesn't feel tranquil enough, it only takes a few changes to bring some peace into it. You can easily make a small area where you can sit and relax, or turn your whole garden into a calming space. Start your garden transformation with the ideas below.

Make It Private and Quiet

It's difficult to relax in your garden if you know people can watch you, or there's a lot of noise. One of the first things you can do is boost privacy and soundproofing in your outdoor space. Putting up a fence around the perimeter is one option, if you don't already have one. If you do, you could get a taller one or extend it at the top. Plants also make excellent barriers for sound and peeping eyes. You can use anything from shrubbery to trees to help soundproof your garden and give you more privacy. You could also create a small, private area within the garden using plants.

Install a Water Feature

The sound of water might sometimes make you want to use the bathroom, but it's also very calming. Installing a water feature that you can watch and listen to can add to the relaxing atmosphere. Take a look at some different fountains to find something you like. You could have something large or small, in the middle of your garden or tucked away somewhere. It might attract some garden birds too, which are always fun to watch when you're outside or even inside.

Set Up a Seating Area

Somewhere to sit back and relax is essential, whether you're on your own or with others. You could create a seating area near to your house, especially if you have a patio. Or you might want to put a small deck or patio at the back of the garden, tucked away from everything else. Think about how you want to use your seating throughout the year. Sometimes you might want to eat outside, read a book or just sit out in the sun. You could have anything from dining chairs and sofas to sun loungers.

Grow Plants That Need Attention

Gardening can be a very relaxing activity. If you enjoy it, don't choose plants that look after themselves. Having to care for your garden gives you a sense of purpose and can help you let go of your frustrations. You might grow flowers or other plants, or you could focus on fruits and vegetables. Whenever you want to relax, you can go out and do some gardening in your calm space.

Your garden should help you to unwind after a long day or week. Give it a redesign to make it more relaxing.

An Evening Dinner At Chef Chew Kitchen, Petaling Jaya

BACK TO SG. BULOH for a couple of days....

Come evening, we went for dinner at Chef Chew Kitchen in Seksyen 19, Petaling Jaya.  Since it was my first time there, I did not know what to expect except to sit back, relax and eat.  LOL... It is a one shop lot restaurant so tables are very limited.  Reservation was made at 6pm to be on the safe side, to avoid crowds and waiting for food was very minimized at this time of the day.  For the seven of us, these dishes were served on the table...
Thumbs up even before the dinner...  And soon these are served...
Claypot braised ribs...  Their signature dish... Fish Maw...  First time eating fish maw which is whitish in colour...  Black Beancurd with Pumpkin sauce... Hey, this restaurant indeed serves new to me! This must be Sweet Sauce Chicken... For the American... Cos we Asians like Steamed Chicken like this!  LOL...  And the star dish of the dinner is this...  Freshly steamed and succulent prawns...  And the most delicious part is none other…

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Night Market Along Lee Garden Plaza Hotel, Hatyai

BY THE TIME WE REACHED THE HOTEL, it was almost dark. This time round, we took a longer rest in the hotel... my girl might not need it but I certainly did!  After recharging around 80% of my body strength, we were ready to explore the streets again.

Our hotel is really a strategic spot for us tourists.  The street vendors were all ready to boost their sales in front, at the side and along the whole stretch of street where we stayed.  Left, right, front... the place was filled with people and tourists like us... I could hear some of them speaking my dialect, we felt kind of at home instead of being tourists....

Besides the street vendors in front of the hotel, there was a night market just five minutes walking distance away from our hotel, Lee Garden Plaza.... Maybe they only opened during the weekends?  I am not sure about that.. .anyway, we were kind of excited to see all the bright lights along the street....

Come... Let's Go!
We started from the beginning of the street...  A …
