Hatyai, Food And Shopping Paradise

HATYAI...HERE WE COME!!

We talked about going to Hatyai one month ago but never really planned or booked anything until three days before our trip.  When we reached Penang, we went to enquire about the transport to Hatyai via van, it cost RM80 per person for return way.  After booking the van, then only I went online to search for hotels.  It has been many years since I last visited Hatyai and I am not familiar with the hotels names anymore... but one that I commonly heard about is Lee Garden Hotel, the one which has been "bombed" several years ago.  I went into tripadvisor, agoda and booking dot com to search for information.  After comparing their prices and reading through some reviews, I finally made a booking for one night stay at Lee Garden Plaza Hotel....

The van arrived punctually at 8am to pick us up ..
we were the first passengers he picked up
and naturally we sat at the very front row of the 12 seater van....
And Off we goooooo.....
Reached Changloon in less than 3 hours...
Or was it two hours?  Not really sure...
Maybe we were in dreamland halfway...
After going through two immigrations, we reached Hatyai at almost 2pm...
Thailand is one hour earlier so it was 1pm their time...
Our hotel is just opposite Central and Centara Hotel...
This is the entrance to the hotel...
Security is tighter now so it seems...
Every bag or package needs to be opened and screened through...
At the hotel lobby on the 10th floor....
Friendly attendants are on the ground floor and at the 10th to give assistance...
And this is where the buffet meals are held...
We were told that it was a Queen Size bed... but to our amazement,
It is more than a King size... must be at least 7 feet wide...
No complaints about the room, though it is not very new already..
But as long as it is still clean and comfortable...
Water from the shower is very strong, thank goodness...
For a RM160 plus, it is considered OKAY la...
The view from our room on the 23rd floor....
Oh yes, for that rate in Agoda, there is buffet breakfast provided as well...
Since it is only a one night stay, we did not waste much time...
After dumping our bags and freshening up, we went out in search of our LUNCH!
We were super hungry then!!

I went to Hatyai once on a day trip when I was attending a course in Penang, go Alor Setar, past Bukit Kayu Hitam...shop shop shop...and rush back. I remember one place, like a market - the girls so very friendly, I was buying a belt and they touched up and down one. Hehehehehe!!!!
