Aunty Lee Nyonya Food In Malacca

RESTED ONE DAY IN JOHOR just in case of jet lag and the following day, we drove 200 over kilometers to the historical city, Malacca!  The last trip I went was in February, just after Chinese New Year and let me tell you, the place was just "flooded" with tourists then.  Never ever go during peak season unless one loves the crowd and queuing up for food.  hahahahaa...  The weather during CNY was extremely hot too and to our delight, this time it was unlike of what we experienced during the peak season.

Firstly, there as no heavy traffic on the highway... and we drove in to Malacca via Jasin...
Using Waze, we drove to Hatten Hotel without much hassle...
I booked through booking.com and it was much cheaper than walking in.
One night cost RM228 with breakfast and walking in is around RM276.
We parked our car and checked in but we could only go into the room around 3pm...
This time round we were so blessed to have a local and lovely couple to take us around...
They were waiting for our arrival at the lobby and we were whisked off for Lunch straightaway!
This is the place we were brought to... away from the tourists...
We left our orders to them and for appetizers, we had Pai Tee...
We DIY our own stuffings into the crispy Pai Tee cups..
And into our mouth at one go... oh MY!
The taste was simply fabulous!
I must go for this again!!
As for the dishes... oh me oh my!
I was really drooling by then...
Crispy fried fish with sambal...
Ponteh Chicken...
Prawns in pineapple curry... not spicy and definitely suit my tastebuds!
Steamed okra as usual... my favourite and theirs as well!
I thought it would be super spicy by looking at the red chillies..
But to my delight, they were not, in fact they were sweetened!
Everyone laughed when the camera just have to "eat first" instead of humans!
See what I mean?  We do love to take pictures and looking pro at it!!
For desserts, we had cendol ....
And the gula melaka syrup is up to individual's takings...
The best for last....
Price of the meal?
No, we did not ask... as the local couple keep saying...
"You are our guests... Don't worry, Just be Happy!!"
Yes, we were indeed Blessed..
Thank You!!

  14. Yeah, don't worry be happy! :D

I've never had Pai Tee before, even though my mom is Malaccan. I think she doesn't really fancy it herself. Every time we go back (which is not that frequent also), chicken rice balls only. :/

Ah that Parkson shopping centre, I remembered we went there shopping the last time we went Malacca

I love all the food shown here, but I am a bit skeptical about the fish, if with many bones, I don't think I will like it
