Gathering At Tuck Kee Restaurant, Pasir Pinji And Secret Garden

I THOUGHT I COULD NOT MAKE IT FOR THE GATHERING LAST SATURDAY due to an appointment in the evening.  But it was cancelled at the last minute and I was glad that I could make it to my ex-classmates' gathering after all.  At our age now, we try to make it to meet up as whenever the opportunity arises.  At our golden age with kids all grown up and away, this is the time to catch up with our old friends... meeting up and calling each other by our Chinese names indeed brings back old childhood days and we kind of feel young again...at least for some sweet moments!  hahahaha...

This time we had our dinner gathering at Tuck Kee Restaurant in Pasir Pinji.  So nice of my friend to pick me up from my house, nowadays I do not drive out during the night if I could help it, my eyes are not so sharp now especially rainy season now in Ipoh.  Near distance is fine, anywhere further than 15 minutes, I prefer to be "picked up."  *hint, hint*
This time there were only eight of us... nice number too...
At least we can hear each other's conversation without much distraction...  :)
And our dishes consisted of the following...
Acar as appetizer...

Claypot braised ribs with yam... RM45 which I feel is a bit too "steeped"...
Cabbage with almonds flakes and bacon...
This dish is not too bad.. gave me an idea on what to do with cabbage next time..
Steamed chicken with shredded ginger...
I prefer lots and lots of ginger to cover the chicken...
Beancurd with spinach and mushrooms...
This dish is kind of special... stuffed mushrooms with "wai sang" and gingko...
Claypot seafood....
With these few dishes, the bill came to RM254.00...
As for desserts, a few of us adjourned to Secret Garden for muffin and drinks...
It has been a long time since I last went there...
Nice ambience for bonding and catching up with friends and family...

  1. Ooooo...food looks so good, everybody looking great! Yes, yes, good to get together with all friends as often as we can, bonding for old times' sake. I enjoy that very much too. That acar looks great - that alone with rice, enough for me - so appetising!

  3. We love to go to Tuck Kee, especially for birthday celebrations. Never fail to order their "Mun Cheong" chicken (similar to the one u had). Looking at your pics, I think we'll try some of your other dishes the next time round.
