Hakka Noodles At Hong Hin, Belfield Street, Ipoh

EACH MORNING I MUST GO FOR MY FIRST MEAL... OUTSIDE...  No eating at home if I can help it.  And the one shop I am missing badly and dearly is Hong Hin coffeeshop which offers the best Hakka noodles from the yesteryears till today!  Yes, I love going there for breakfast but I must be early.  For Hakka mee lovers, one must be there before 9am, any time over 9am, the risk of Hakka noodles sold out is pretty high.

I cannot remember which morning, but it was a fine one when I reached th shop around 8.30am.  My friends were already at the shop sitting down and waiting to be served. Tables are very limited so it is not an uncommon sight if others stand behind us even when we just begin to eat.  hahahahaa....  

While waiting to be served, I quickly walked to the street behind to get these.....
Yes, sticky rice and yam cakes.... 

Heard that they were sold out fast too... so quickly grabbed two pieces to try... 
Not too bad.. but I have tried better ones elsewhere... 
But not for the Hakka Noodles.... This is the best in Ipoh... *my views*
And these are all specially made by the vendor too.... 
Cannot get these type of taste elsewhere.. as far as I know.... 
Hong Hin along Belfield Street, old town, Ipoh... 
I must go more frequently before they call it a day!

  4. We have brunch outside too, no lunch...and we cook some simple things for dinner. Hakka noodles look different from the Seremban ones - I like the ones there.

  5. First time I see Hakka Mee drenched in soy sauce. Thought usually they will only use pork lard oil like kolo mee. Interesting...

    1. Yeah, the normal ones are not wet but dry with no trace of black sauce too.. different style of cooking..

  6. Oh, I know where this is. Very crowded place. We usually go to the Hakka noodles along Hugh Low Street. Do you take beef? There's also another Hakka noodles shop on the other side of Old Town (near Thean Chun) that sells beef strips together with their noodles...a change from the usual.

    1. Yes, I take beef... right, that stall was formerly the father's.. now passed to son... I seldom go there already.. I still prefer this stall compared to that one... :) Hope to see you one day!
