My First Dinner At Nyonya Treats, Johor

DEPARTED FROM IPOH AT 12.40 NOON and landed in Johor around 2pm... very punctual this time, Malindo brought me safely to the grounds at Senai Airport right on time.  Collected my luggage and out to the open air, looking for my friend's car and in no time, we were off to Tun Aminah for a quick lunch.  I was feeling ravenous by then, maybe due to some turbulence on the plane at one certain area, it caused me some anxiety that added to the hunger.

Fast forward.... I had a proper meal during dinner.  We went to Nyonya Treats in Taman Perling, I requested to go there for the Stuffed Fish which I dearly miss.  But to my disappointment, they were all sold out and we had to settle for something different which was not what I expected....
Looking through the menu, every dish looks so appealing and appetizing...
I wrongly ordered this Claypot Assam Fish... it was too spicy for my liking...
And the color of the curry is not that appealing though they have lots of ingredients inside...
This Or Hiang is not bad... oh, did I spell this out right?
Cincaluk Omelette
Tapioca leaves....
Stinky beans in sambal which is a bit too bitter for my liking too...
The five dishes for the four of us...
The only thing that feels right for the night...
Durian Cendol...
Don't know why this time round the food was just so-so...
Maybe the cook was not around?  hmmmm...
Anyway, I had a nice time catching up with my friends..
Food might not be up to expectation nevertheless...
as the saying goes, it is the company that counts!
Fee Great to see them again!!

  3. Wow, from Penang, now to Johor. Lots to eat, nice! Too bad the sambal is bitter else the petai would be very tasty. I also cannot eat too spicy food else I would love to eat the assam fish. The cincaluk omelette should be very tasty if it is not too salty and the vege fan su leaves is tasty too.

    1. The omelette is nice, i think sambal belacan might be overfried thus the bitter taste...

  4. I love nyonya! Did not like one expensive place we went to in Penang, all of us, a big group, all cousins, went and we criticised everything from top to bottom. Went to my old-time favourite in Melaka, didn't quite like it also - not the same anymore. But I did come across one nice one in KL. Sure would love to try any in Johor should I get the chance. How long will you be there? I fly over, jalan jalan cari makan?

  6. Maybe because of GST, that's why the food quality deteriorate. (Still blaming it after so many years now because it is convenient to do so)
