Seafood At Tong Sheng Restaurant, Malacca

IT WAS ALMOST 6PM WHEN WE FINALLY REACHED HATTEN HOTEL after our fruitful trip to the durian plantations.  What a long and productive day! The day is not over yet, dinner was still pending, in another two hours, our host/hostess would be coming to pick us up for a scrumptious meal!  Quickly we freshened up and had a short rest in the hotel room.  Fingers were busy on touching the handphones to keep up with the daily emails and notifications.

Soon the two hours passed and we got ready and waited at the hotel lobby for our friends to fetch us for dinner.  We did not know what we had in store for we are not so familiar with Malacca food. Our friends were very punctual and we were whisked off to a restaurant called FATSO.  Upon reaching, the restaurant was closed... but no worries, we proceeded to another restaurant called Tong Sheng. Seems that these two restaurants are the famous ones in Malacca for their seafood...

This is how Tong Sheng looks like on a weekend...
*taken from my son's phone during one weekend*
But on the day we went, the crowd was very much less...
We got our table and seats within 15 minutes or so...

Famous for their cheesy meehoon...
I was expecting something milky but to my surprise,

it was something like Wat Tan hor gravy but with a better fragrance...
A-Must-Have dish in this restaurant...
Otak Otak fried with eggs...
Four types of bean...
And one more green dish which I have overlooked, I guess...
Lastly and not least, the Crabs in cheesy sauce too...
I do not normally take cheese but this sauce is Extremely Special
The cheese was somehow "non existing"..
The gravy tasted like sweet, sourish with minimum spicyness...
A plate of toasted bread to dip into the sauce...
Super "omphh" I would say.....
Ended up taking three big claws before calling it a stop...
Again we were being blessed with such a scrumptious dinner!
Endless Thanks to both of you!!

  3. How much is that plate of prawn noodles? I guess it is one big prawn cut up but even so it is not going to be cheap if we have that here. Some places RM20, some RM30...the bigger, the more expensive. But I hear there are farmed ones now, sopposed to be cheaper...and the problem is we can never tell - they cheat us, we also don't know. :(

An Evening Dinner At Chef Chew Kitchen, Petaling Jaya

BACK TO SG. BULOH for a couple of days....

Come evening, we went for dinner at Chef Chew Kitchen in Seksyen 19, Petaling Jaya.  Since it was my first time there, I did not know what to expect except to sit back, relax and eat.  LOL... It is a one shop lot restaurant so tables are very limited.  Reservation was made at 6pm to be on the safe side, to avoid crowds and waiting for food was very minimized at this time of the day.  For the seven of us, these dishes were served on the table...
Thumbs up even before the dinner...  And soon these are served...
Claypot braised ribs...  Their signature dish... Fish Maw...  First time eating fish maw which is whitish in colour...  Black Beancurd with Pumpkin sauce... Hey, this restaurant indeed serves new to me! This must be Sweet Sauce Chicken... For the American... Cos we Asians like Steamed Chicken like this!  LOL...  And the star dish of the dinner is this...  Freshly steamed and succulent prawns...  And the most delicious part is none other…

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Night Market Along Lee Garden Plaza Hotel, Hatyai

BY THE TIME WE REACHED THE HOTEL, it was almost dark. This time round, we took a longer rest in the hotel... my girl might not need it but I certainly did!  After recharging around 80% of my body strength, we were ready to explore the streets again.

Our hotel is really a strategic spot for us tourists.  The street vendors were all ready to boost their sales in front, at the side and along the whole stretch of street where we stayed.  Left, right, front... the place was filled with people and tourists like us... I could hear some of them speaking my dialect, we felt kind of at home instead of being tourists....

Besides the street vendors in front of the hotel, there was a night market just five minutes walking distance away from our hotel, Lee Garden Plaza.... Maybe they only opened during the weekends?  I am not sure about that.. .anyway, we were kind of excited to see all the bright lights along the street....

Come... Let's Go!
We started from the beginning of the street...  A …
