A Wedding Buffet At 59 Sixty At Komtar Towers, Penang

THE MAIN REASON FOR CHECKING OUT FROM ROYAL HOTEL TO JEN HOTEL is to attend a special wedding dinner at the 59 Sixty Dining and Bar in Komtar.   We checked into Jen Hotel (formerly known as Shangrila and Traders) because this hotel is the most convenient for us, just a few minutes walk out from the hotel to Komtar in our dinner clothing and high heels without having to cross any roads in broad daylight.  LOL....

We checked in one day earlier to get us familiarized with the surrounding and on how-to-go-about so that we would not be late for the wedding.  Somehow, we managed to find the place through some walkways here and there.... and we make sure that there are special landmarks for us to remember so that we would not get lost the next day.  LOL....

The wedding buffet started at 11am and we were right on time.... since we were the first early birds, we took endless pictures of this beautiful dining hall....
View from the 59 Sixty in Komtar....
Part of Penang at one angle...
From another angle.. through the window panes...
The Penang bridge could be seen....
Komtar Tower is the highest building in Penang....
The place where the wedding was held.... very nice ambiance.... and free style...
Early birds can have more time lingering here and there...
And I sent my "photographer" out to take whatever is seen...
Just a small section from where we were seated..
Most of the main dishes were covered up....
Initial takings.... eat slow and steadily..
So much to savour and enjoy....
And we the early birds... before the buffet started...
And when the buffet ended.....
It was almost 2pm and we made our way back to Jen Hotel...
Checked out and drove back to our home sweet home in IPOH....

  5. Very nice now, Komtar. Would love to check this place out. Last time, like a haunted house, so dark and dreary.

  6. Very practical to hold a wedding buffet. Usually those sit down makan, aiyo got to wait so long for the food to be served. LOL!
