Famous Penang Hokkien Noodles Behind Royal Hotel, Jalan Larut

THE NEXT MORNING WE HAD BREAKFAST AT THE BACK OF THE ROYAL HOTEL... Actually buffet breakfast was provided for two by the hotel, I rather sleep in than going for the buffet, so I told my siblings that they could eat all they like at the lobby.  But after telling them that I would be having the famous Penang Hokkien mee behind the hotel, they rather stayed behind and forfeit the buffet breakfast.  Oh.. oh, that would not do, right?  Why waste the free buffet?  In the end, I heard that they took only fruits and some coffee and save their "space" for the Penang food, just right behind the hotel.... and these were what we took.....
We waited around 40 minutes to taste this.....
The Famous Hokkien Noodles which is worth waiting for.....
Accompanied by some fried Lobak... which consists of Or Hiang, Yam and spring rolls...
Nyonya kueh as desserts....
Foregoing the hotel buffet for these.... hmmmmm....

  1. I like the Nyonya Kueh, fried Or-hiang, yam and spring rolls, a bit wasted to forgo the buffet breakfast, why not have the buffet breakfast and have the local food as lunch or dinner?

  2. Looks like you made the right choice! Plus no waiting in the buffet line.

  3. Nice eats. Hotel buffets are not quite the same.

  7. Go Penang, no need to eat the breakfast provided by the hotel, must go eat Penang food in coffee shops so all of you did the right thing. :)

  8. You are so smart indeed! The Hokkien Prawn Mee and kuehs are more heavenly than that hotel's buffet breakfast that is only Nasi Lemak and White Porridge, if I remember correctly.
