A Balanced Lifestyle

With my "travel mode" on for the past few months, I have been busy going here and there.  Now after all the traveling, it is good to be back in back in my home sweet home again!  I have been busy getting my house cleaned up after my absence. I am also trying to do some healthy home cooking after consuming so much of arteries clogging food during my travel.

As you all know from the postings on my blog, I have been savoring and indulging in lots of mouth-watering food for the past few months. Not only that, now that I am back in my hometown, I have been going out daily with my friends to "catch up" and eating all the local food which I have missed while I was away.  Needless to say, I have put on weight, not surprising since I have been eating too much and now is the time for me to shed some of my body fat.

Actually, I have already done my homework on how to lose weight. Let me share with you what this website says about the types of food that can speed up weight loss. The words that caught my eyes are the food and speed! This sounds good to me.

Top 10 super foods that will speed up weight loss:

1.      Grapefruit – Eating half a grapefruit will minimize my appetite and it helps to melt away the fat in my body. Grapefruit is rich in Vitamin C. I like grapefruits.
2.       Black Pepper - Black pepper enable weight loss and stimulate digestion. It increases metabolism and stimulate my stomach. I am going to start adding black pepper into my cooking.
3.       Cinnamon – It lowers blood sugar levels and help suppress appetite. It can be added to my hot drink, like coffee or tea.
4.       Eggs – Eggs help to suppress my appetite, low in calories and contains protein.
5.       Apple – It is rich in fibre and water. I enjoy eating crunchy apples.
6.       Blueberries – These help to melt away the fat and best eaten as salad.
7.    Quinoa - It will not raise my blood sugar. After eating quinoa, I will feel satiated and crave less sweets and carbs.
8.       Chili – These suppresses appetite. I love spicy food!
9.       Coffee – It increases metabolism and melts away the fat.
1.   Vegetables – These are rich in nutrients, fibre and lots of vitamins so I will be losing weight the healthy way.

Having said all these, don't you think this is an easy way of losing weight? Let’s see how soon for me to see a difference in my weight.  But of course, most of all, I need to exercise at the same time, not just intake, output is important too.  Most important, do bear in mind that everything must be balanced, eat moderately and exercise regularly.  :)

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
