Our Unexpected Free Meal From Marco Polo, Johor

WHAT TURNED OUT THIS EVENING'S DINNER was the least expected....  We were looking forward to having a western meal dining at the Marco Polo restaurant without any hitches.  The place was crowded as usual and we were ushered to the first floor for our meals.  For us three persons, three main meals were ordered to be eligible for the membership discount of 50%.  For my two princes, they ordered Pasta with walnuts, Angus Beef steak and for myself, I had a special Pizza wrapped.  My son recommended this to me, he said it is kind of special nowhere else have ever made. For side orders, we had french fries with truffle oil, something new to me too.....

Anyway, our orders came except for the Angus Steak, while waiting, we just shared and ate our food served.  But the steak was nowhere in sight even though we had made several waves to the staff and commented.  The friendly staff kept apologizing for the delay, we saw him made several calls in foreign language and eventually he came over and informed us the there was a shortage of steak and thus our order was delayed or cancelled... My son complained why we were not informed earlier... and the poor guy kept apologizing on behalf.  He asked us whether we wanted to order some other food to replace, but by then, our food were almost finished and we were actually quite full so we rejected.  We just asked for the bill instead.... Then to our surprise, he said, "No need to pay this meal."  What? Really?  Yes, he smilingly replied.... Alright, that was not bad... huh...
Taken at the first floor of Marco Polo....
Pasta in some walnut sauce and spinach....
They tasted really nice though I couldn't eat much...
Very filling for me... around RM29
And this is under the Pizza category...
Looks like a Giant Puff to me....
How am I going to finish this?
These two were our orders...
The Angus steak did not come...
so we ended up sharing our two main meals which was really a wise choice....
Inside the giant puff...something like this... creamy cheese with chicken....
Around RM27 or so...
Our side order.... Straight cut French Fries with Truffle oil whatever that is.... RM17 or so ..
Well, instead of the Steak, he ended up eating this instead!
LOL...
Well, Jokes aside... Thumbs up to Marco Polo for living up to its name
and Thanks for the evening meal....

  6. These dishes look very good! They did a very good thing to give you the meal free! I am sure you like the free meal better than having the steak. This will give them a good reputation. I KNOW what your puff is!!! Here, the pizza and Italian places sell them, they are very popular! It is called a Calzone. Folded dough stuffed with cheeses and meats, you can choose your filling. Our son loves them and orders them a lot when we go out to eat.

An Evening Dinner At Chef Chew Kitchen, Petaling Jaya

BACK TO SG. BULOH for a couple of days.... Come evening, we went for dinner at Chef Chew Kitchen in Seksyen 19, Petaling Jaya.  Since it was my first time there, I did not know what to expect except to sit back, relax and eat.  LOL... It is a one shop lot restaurant so tables are very limited.  Reservation was made at 6pm to be on the safe side, to avoid crowds and waiting for food was very minimized at this time of the day.  For the seven of us, these dishes were served on the table... Thumbs up even before the dinner...  And soon these are served...  Claypot braised ribs...  Their signature dish... Fish Maw...  First time eating fish maw which is whitish in colour...  Black Beancurd with Pumpkin sauce... Hey, this restaurant indeed serves new to me! This must be Sweet Sauce Chicken... For the American... Cos we Asians like Steamed Chicken like this!  LOL...  And the star dish of the dinner is this...  Freshly steamed and succulent prawns

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...  Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch
