4 Appliances To Upgrade in Spring

If you’ve been operating under the assumption that Black Friday deals and Christmas sales are the best times to buy new appliances, you should rethink your approach. Depending on what you’re shopping for, spring can be an even better time to upgrade. You’ll find great deals that allow you to spend your hard-earned cash on more exciting things, plus you won’t have to suffer through several more months with outdated or malfunctioning appliances while you're waiting for those end-of-the-year sales to roll around again.

For a few different reasons, the number one appliance to upgrade in the spring is your refrigerator. Most manufacturers release their new refrigerator models in May so they’re ready for the inevitable refrigerator breakdowns brought on by the summer heat. Around this time, retailers will place old models on clearance to make room for new stock. That means you can snag last year’s models at rock-bottom prices, sometimes up to 50 percent off. If you’d prefer the latest and greatest instead, you can still save money in May by taking advantage of Memorial Day or Mother’s Day discounts.

Small Appliances

May holiday discounts make it the perfect month to buy any small appliances you’ve had your eye on. Most retailers run some kind of sale for Memorial Day, just as they do on other three-day holiday weekends. Mother’s Day typically brings a few deals as well. May is also the peak month for graduation sales. Typically, these sales start in April and run through June. They tend to focus on items that make great gifts for students who will be heading to college in the fall or striking out on their own after college graduation — including small appliances.

HVAC Equipment

Most people don’t give their air conditioning much thought until summer hits, but spring is actually the perfect time to buy an new air conditioner. Give your system a test run on a warm spring day and see how it does. If you’re not happy with its performance, start shopping for a new one immediately. That will give you plenty of time to consider your options and schedule installation before the summer heat sets in.

Your Vacuum

You should also add a new vacuum to your spring shopping list. Thanks to the tradition of spring cleaning, many retailers offer sales on products such as mops, carpet cleaners, and vacuums during this season. You’ll have your choice of several different types of vacuums: upright, canister, stick, handheld, and robotic. Not sure which brand to buy or what type of vacuum will best meet your needs? Search the Consumer Reports website or retailers’ sites for vacuum cleaner buying guides.

You don’t need to brave the Black Friday madness to score great deals on appliances. Holiday promotions and clearance markdowns make it possible to save money any time of the year — but spring is an especially good season thanks to sales for Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, graduation, tax day, spring cleaning, and more. Stretch your money further by using these spring discounts to make new appliances more affordable.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Exploring The Sea Cruise Royal Caribbean

CRUISING ALONG.... Once we deposited our bags in our cabins, we had our buffet meal at the Hammerjack restaurant and exactly at 4pm, we heard a loud Horn signal...  ITS TIME TO SAIL ALONG THE PACIFIC OCEAN! And while the ship started to sail, we humans started to walk and explore.... to familarize ourselves inside the ship....  Elevators on each side of the ship....  Making my mark....  On another side....  We walked along to check out our food outlets... This Promenade Cafe  had became our regular joint .... We like to sit there enjoying our hot drinks and desserts... Free flow of food day and night.... Passing through the bars to the casino... The casino will open only when the ship is in international waters...  At one of the jackpot machines... I wonder if they are real?? But they are only $1 bundles... Then we went up to the highest floor.... The swimming deck.... Taken against the sun.... Nice sunset in the evening.... The Happy Trio!

The Good, The Bad But Not Ugly

MISSING AND NOW BACK IN ACTION...  I checked back my last post and it was 8 March last month and today is 19 April, less than two months only.  So what has been happening in my life?  Lots and lots... good news, bad news, sad news... all concerning health and I guess this is our life cycle as we live day by day.   My health is also not that "fantastic" during the past few months, but mine is a small rock compared to giant boulder which my best buddy is undergoing... I guess some of you know what is happening to her from her blog posts.  I was totally devastated when this happened to her, my tears couldn't help falling and my heart goes out to her.  I am ashamed to say that instead of me giving the comfort that she needs, I am the one that have been receiving her strength in times like this.  She might be crushed physically but she is not broken in her spiritual mind and soul.  One word... "Unbreakable!"  She is a shining example..... "What can death do to m
