Yum Yum Restaurant With My Food Gang

I TOLD MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS that I lost weight while in US even when there were abundant food laid on the table each day.  Yes, unbelievable but true though it does not make sense, right?  :)

During my absence, my girl bought a weighing scale online.  Ever since I got home, I weigh myself each morning and that is why I realize that I did not gain any weight at all..... alright, this happened two weeks ago and now two weeks later, I dare not say the same thing.  The moment I put my two legs on the machine, it showed a difference of 1 kg heavier than the last.... hmmmm... just in a matter of two weeks, I gained 1 kg!  No regrets, of course.. but must watch out from now on.....

How not to gain weight when I have foodie friends eating with me every now and then?  I miss them all when I was thousand of miles away.. and now I am back, food brought us together!  These dishes below were from Yum Yum restaurant along Persiaran Greenhill, Ipoh.  Most of the food here are Nyonya styled....

Lemongrass chicken...
A new dish for me to cook one of these days...
Steamed Okra with Sambal Dried Prawns as toppings...
Ju Hu Cha served with fresh lettuce for wrapping....
*Sengkuang or White Turnip*
Eggs with minced meat as toppings...
Fried eggplants...
For a moment, everyone thought it was French Fries...
Total cost for this lunch was around RM70 plus with rice and drinks...
And lastly and not least, my Lunch gang for the day!

  6. Each time I visited Japan or China, I could easily loose 1-2 kgs after a week as I had to walk over 20,000 steps daily. This is something I hardly do in KL. I would drive my car even to buy grocery from the shop 0.25 km from home.

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Caring And Sharing At Limestone, Regal Lodge, Ipoh

IMPROMPTU GATHERING.... Nothing was planned beforehand, it was only at the last minute that we received call to have lunch at Limestone Cafe, inside Regal Lodge.  It was my first time there to have set lunch.  The menu prices were reasonable, around RM15.90 for the main dish, RM3 for a bowl of soup and RM2 for ice cream.  Other than that, coffee, tea and soft drinks are free.
We were there not so much for the food but for the ambiance... we practically had the whole cafe to ourselves during that lunch hour.  Only one or two tables were occupied and we spent more than two hours there since it was a Friday long hour lunch for my working colleagues.  After a few months absence from me, it was wonderful to catch up with my ex-colleagues again!
I was super hungry by lunch time and I felt like eating almost anything in the menu. We ended up ordering one main dish each and then sharing them with one another so that we could taste a bit of this and that.....
I felt like eating Aglio Oli…

Famous Wanton Mee At New Hoong Kee, Bandar Sri Damansara

BREAKFAST FEAST..  Best meal of the day is always my first meal because I know I am able to tuck in as much as my stomach can accept.  I eat a lot in the mornings and then slowly dwindle by the end of the day.  As the saying goes, eat like a king in the morning and like a pauper in the evenings.  This is what I normally do nowadays, not because I wanted to, but it is my own body system that tune me this way.  Though I deny I am old but the body says otherwise... LOL...

On this morning, we went to New Hoong Kee in Bandar Sri Damansara, my sibling said this is currently his favourite place.  And after trying, I know why.... the food we ordered, all turned out good and tasty, even the curry reminded me of my good old days!
Managed to catch the name otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell this story now...  My type of curry... I can go without the chicken... Just the other ingredients will do fine for me.. I like the way they cook this curry... Heard the BBQ pork is tasty too... melt in …
