UP And UP For Assam Fish Curry, Ipoh

BACK IN IPOH, it is the same old thing again.. Where and what to eat....

I met up with my friends two nights ago for dinner.  We were wondering where and what to eat and after a couple of hours of chatting, we finally got one place where the five of us agreed on.  LOL... UP and UP is the place, situated in Medan Ipoh, we reached there around 6.30pm to beat the crowd.  True enough, after we made our orders, a load bus of tourists came in.  But we did not need to worry, their meal was already pre-ordered and we did not have to wait long for our food.

For the five of us, we ordered four small size portions but when they were not really small.  The prices were below RM18 except for the Assam Fish curry which is according to weight.
Ginger Chicken cooked in Claypot...
The "winery" taste was given a Thumbs UP!
Claypot seafood beancurd ...
My favourite dish... Ju Hu Char...
Wrapped in lettuce.... crunchy and yummy!!
And their signature Assam Fish Curry which cost a whooping RM58....
But it was worth the price.... lots of ingredients in the pot...
We almost cleaned up the whole pot of assam curry!
And this whole meal came to around RM117 with rice and drinks...
We were getting up from our chairs when the staff told us that there is desserts on the house..
Wow.. very nice and soft Tau Foo Far....
Not too bad... my meal is indeed complete and satisfactory!

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
