Fine Dining At Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant, The Gardens, Kuala Lumpur

OUR ROAD FOODIE TRIP HAS FINALLY CAME TO AN END...

Ended in Kuala Lumpur in fact.... after a good night's rest in Johor, the next day, the five of us drove up to Mid Valley in KL.  It has been a long while since I last went to Mid Valley.  We had a couple of hours to spend before each of us departed our separate ways.  Before we left for our own destinations, we had a fine dining lunch at Fong Lye at The Gardens.

We did not know that there were two Fong Lye-s restaurants just nearby to each other.  At first we opted for the one with a long queue... then I noticed that there is another restaurant behind with the same name and eventually, we opted for the one without the queue, of course.  Not knowing what were in store, we were a "bit" astonished on the fine dining prices compared to the "sibling" restaurant nearby.  Never mind.... for once, let's be "fine" on the food!

Ended up ordering six dishes for the six of us, fine dining means smaller portions of the dishes served so better order more than less.  Don't look at the prices.... after all, how often do we come by here, right?  LOL....  When the dishes arrived, each of us were eager to dig in by then...
Spare Ribs with Sour Sauce... RM27...
Not too bad... eh...
Green Chives with Meat... RM20...
Can't get this dish anywhere else...
Braised Yam Taiwanese style... very appetizing!  RM26
Drunken Chicken  RM24..
Each of us can get a piece to go with our rice... LOL...
Claypot Brinjal.... RM19
Sze Chuan style Beancurd RM22....
And the fine utensils served....
Not too bad, right!!
Overall on the food, we had no complaints at all...
Everything turned out fine...
We didn't faint over the price...
Came to RM227.35 with tax and drinks...
Oh perhaps the Oolong Tea is a bit high.. RM30 for 2
With added cups for RM9 for the six of us...
After our scrumptious lunch.... we had this  "non-halal" picture for remembrance...
No regrets... we might come back again some day, ya!!

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Caring And Sharing At Limestone, Regal Lodge, Ipoh

IMPROMPTU GATHERING.... Nothing was planned beforehand, it was only at the last minute that we received call to have lunch at Limestone Cafe, inside Regal Lodge.  It was my first time there to have set lunch.  The menu prices were reasonable, around RM15.90 for the main dish, RM3 for a bowl of soup and RM2 for ice cream.  Other than that, coffee, tea and soft drinks are free.
We were there not so much for the food but for the ambiance... we practically had the whole cafe to ourselves during that lunch hour.  Only one or two tables were occupied and we spent more than two hours there since it was a Friday long hour lunch for my working colleagues.  After a few months absence from me, it was wonderful to catch up with my ex-colleagues again!
I was super hungry by lunch time and I felt like eating almost anything in the menu. We ended up ordering one main dish each and then sharing them with one another so that we could taste a bit of this and that.....
I felt like eating Aglio Oli…

Famous Wanton Mee At New Hoong Kee, Bandar Sri Damansara

BREAKFAST FEAST..  Best meal of the day is always my first meal because I know I am able to tuck in as much as my stomach can accept.  I eat a lot in the mornings and then slowly dwindle by the end of the day.  As the saying goes, eat like a king in the morning and like a pauper in the evenings.  This is what I normally do nowadays, not because I wanted to, but it is my own body system that tune me this way.  Though I deny I am old but the body says otherwise... LOL...

On this morning, we went to New Hoong Kee in Bandar Sri Damansara, my sibling said this is currently his favourite place.  And after trying, I know why.... the food we ordered, all turned out good and tasty, even the curry reminded me of my good old days!
Managed to catch the name otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell this story now...  My type of curry... I can go without the chicken... Just the other ingredients will do fine for me.. I like the way they cook this curry... Heard the BBQ pork is tasty too... melt in …
