Family Budgets and Emergencies: A Simple Guide for Families

Family budgets are great to schedule expenses and monthly outgoings, but every now and then disaster strikes. From an accident to an urgent home repair and illness, there are several things that can threaten your bank balance and cause long term money troubles. Below you will find a simple guide to how to budget for, deal with, and minimize unexpected expenses, so you avoid getting into debt and carry on with your current lifestyle, without having to make compromises.

Have an Emergency Fund

If you don’t have a savings plan implemented in your family budget yet, you will need to review your finances and set up one. An emergency fund will help you survive crises, such as losing your job, having to move, or getting your car fixed. Instead of relying on family members and payday loans, you should have the money ready to deal with whatever life brings your way.

Arrange Insurance Cover

Being careful and ready for the unexpected is even more important when you have a family. You need to have contents and building cover for your home, as well as individual or group travel cover for when you go on vacations. Your car insurance should include a breakdown cover, and home emergencies, such as a broken down furnace or no electricity should be covered under the same policy.

Get a Family Health Insurance

You are likely to get a better deal if you get a family health insurance instead of individual covers. If you fall ill, you will need to deal with not only the lost income, but also the medical expenses, and this can jeopardize your family budget. Get an insurance that covers you for your medical cover excess, or upgrade your plan to reduce the amount you have to pay. You will save money on vaccinations, pregnancy and newborn care, prescription drugs, and even wellness and preventive services.

Take Advantage of Free Legal Advice

It is important that you consider your financial options when disaster strikes. Suffering an accident can have serious financial consequences, and you might want to consult with a legal professional to get the compensation you deserve. Find a personal injury attorney for auto accident to find out about your legal options and recover the cost of your accident. You can claim compensation for loss of income, medical bills, and even inconvenience. Car accidents can leave you without an income for a long time.

Get a Credit Card

If you are unable to save up for emergencies, the next best thing is to get a credit card that is only used when you need it. There are some deals that offer no monthly fees, so you are not increasing your family budget by taking out a card. Paying by card will also give you an extra level of security when booking vacation deals or buying high ticket items.

Review Your Income and Expenditures Regularly

It is important that you keep on checking your income and expenses every few months, to make sure you can maintain your lifestyle and afford all your subscriptions. Look for vulnerabilities in your budget, and try to eliminate them. If your service providers keep on increasing their prices and your motor insurance bill goes up despite having no claims, you might want to shop around and free up some cash for emergencies.

Minimize Risks

To avoid money problems, you need to know and learn to eliminate the risks. Prevention is always better than cure. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly, to avoid falling ill. Stick to your car manufacturer’s guidelines for checkups, and always get your vehicle serviced by a professional who offers warranties. Teach your kids how to stay safe at home and on the street. Get your electrical and heating system checked regularly, as it is always cheaper to deal with a problem spotted early than getting an emergency repair. Activate your warranties on your purchases, so you can take advantage of free servicing.

There are simply too many things that can go wrong in a family. From serious infections and accidents to having to move or natural disasters, you should be prepared to deal with crises. If you have a healthy budget that is reviewed regularly, and you are covered  by medical insurance, you can save money. If you need professional help with adjusting your budget to unexpected situations, or you need advice, you should seek free consultation services that help you budget better in the future and recover the cost of injuries and long term illnesses.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Exploring The Sea Cruise Royal Caribbean

CRUISING ALONG.... Once we deposited our bags in our cabins, we had our buffet meal at the Hammerjack restaurant and exactly at 4pm, we heard a loud Horn signal...  ITS TIME TO SAIL ALONG THE PACIFIC OCEAN! And while the ship started to sail, we humans started to walk and explore.... to familarize ourselves inside the ship....  Elevators on each side of the ship....  Making my mark....  On another side....  We walked along to check out our food outlets... This Promenade Cafe  had became our regular joint .... We like to sit there enjoying our hot drinks and desserts... Free flow of food day and night.... Passing through the bars to the casino... The casino will open only when the ship is in international waters...  At one of the jackpot machines... I wonder if they are real?? But they are only $1 bundles... Then we went up to the highest floor.... The swimming deck.... Taken against the sun.... Nice sunset in the evening.... The Happy Trio!

The Good, The Bad But Not Ugly

MISSING AND NOW BACK IN ACTION...  I checked back my last post and it was 8 March last month and today is 19 April, less than two months only.  So what has been happening in my life?  Lots and lots... good news, bad news, sad news... all concerning health and I guess this is our life cycle as we live day by day.   My health is also not that "fantastic" during the past few months, but mine is a small rock compared to giant boulder which my best buddy is undergoing... I guess some of you know what is happening to her from her blog posts.  I was totally devastated when this happened to her, my tears couldn't help falling and my heart goes out to her.  I am ashamed to say that instead of me giving the comfort that she needs, I am the one that have been receiving her strength in times like this.  She might be crushed physically but she is not broken in her spiritual mind and soul.  One word... "Unbreakable!"  She is a shining example..... "What can death do to m
