From Mount Fuji To Oshino Hakkai

AFTER THE SNOW PLAYING AT MOUNT FUJI, we proceeded on the bus journey to Oshino Hakkai, less than an hour away, if I am not mistaken.  Not so accurate about the bus rides cos most of the time I would be ZZzzzzz whenever the opportunity arises so that I would be more refreshed looking when my photos were taken!  LOL... Just kidding!

Alright, so what does Oshino Hakkai has to offer?  I remember this place, been there before, we walked through a small village... Itinerary says.. The eight ponds are fed by the snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji and the water filters down the mountain through layers of lava for over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals.
Clear spring water from the Mount Fuji lurking behind....

Tourist spot.... for us...
Don't fall into the pond...
Filled with fishes and cold spring water from the mountain...
Reminded me of those dramas I've seen...
Besides sightseeing, there are shops as well....
Samples to taste... and to buy...
We ended up buying lots of crackers and other snacks from here.....
Despite the cold, ice cream is still irresistible...
Soon it was time for lunch!
Part of the food...
Plus Meat plus beancurd pattie...
Served with hot bean curd soup...
Makes me realize this shop must be famous for their smooth beancurd...
Love their springy steamed rice... very nice....
Our healthy lunch!

  4. You are so blessed to have such clear view and photos for Mount Fuji. When I was there, the local guide told us that seldom the view will be clear.

  6. What a lucky girl eating ice cream in Winter. I have visited Japan so many times but yet to see Mount Fuji. So shy to confess....

The Japanese eat lots of soft bean curd that's why their facial complexions are smooth and milky white like Tofu. I am not kidding.
