Up The McCaig's Tower, Oban With The Gohs

THE GOHS HAVE ARRIVED!!

Our long time friends from Malaysia have landed in Aberdeen, Aaron fetched them from the airport and it is good to see them again here in this foreign land.  They settled down comfortably in Mary's guest house, Brentwood Villa for the next eight days, all thanks to the guest house's hostess, Mary who welcomed them with her warm smiles and her best homecooked Malaysian food right here in Aberdeen!

The very next morning after a very heartwarming breakfast, we set out on a three days trip to Oban and Isle of Skye.  All five of us have never been to these two places before and we were all set to go with high spirits!  It was only a three hours drive or was it four?  Well, anyway... I was told that along the journey, someone snored in the car.... LOL... I guess my battery was deflated somewhere along the way even though I was in high spirits... initially!  LOL...
White porridge with condiments for breakfast...
Thank you Mary!!
You really make us feel at home!
Somewhere along the way, we stopped here to take a breather...

Lakes...
And mountains...
And we "grabbed" some photos before continuing our way...
We stopped at McCaig's Tower, a prominent tower on Battery Hill overlooking the town of Oban..
It is built of Bonawe granite taken from the quarries and it is a tourist spot...
This is the house I would love to stay in... a white cottage on the way up to the McCaig's Tower..
Yes, we love the cottage here...
Just like in the fairy tales...
From the top of McCaig's Tower, we could see the whole town of Oban..
Yes, on top of the tower where we could sit and enjoy the scenery...
Climbing up the tower...
Reminds me of Rome...
Breathtaking scenery up the tower...
I would love to go again... summer perhaps....
The colours of the wind will definitely be different...

  5. The white cottage is beautiful and romantic. But all of you and your smiles are even more beautiful! The tower does look Roman to me, too. Claire, you always bring cheer into our lives!!!

  6. Porridge. I could use some of it right now, still recovering from my sickness.

The tower was amazing and the view of the surrounding was even more mesmerising.
