Food For Thought On Covid Days

COVID # ?? MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER.... it is not going to be partial if this virus is getting more and more widely spread each day.  Police blocks are on the main roads 24 hours near my area, I heard.  My niece and nephew were stopped couple of days ago, many questions were asked before they could be let off.  Not advisable to be driving in twos or more on the main roads especially with no valid reasons.  I agree that it is a good move to implement stricter laws on the roads especially during this pandemic situation.

Aunties like me stay home quietly, my only contact and hearing different voices is by handphone.  Passing time as usual by cooking, cleaning house, laptop work and Netflix.  Questions like "Bored yet?  Still sane or not?" were responded with a NO at present.  Meanwhile, Let us Stay positive and optimistic!

My lunch... eating leftovers from the other day...
Boiled soup with tomatoes, carrots and corn....
My neighbour gave me a bowl of Fish Tomyam....
Snacks for tea time....
Noodles with chicken meat for dinner!
That summed up my meal for the day....
Not sure which day already!
Someone sent me this....
Ooopsss... I better be careful!

  4. Can only go out ALONE! That's the ruling and as far as possible, don't go out at all. The number of cases over at your side every day is so very alarming!!! The way things are going I hear there will be a TOTAL lockdown soo since people are not cooperating - nobody is allowed to go out anymore!

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
