Desire For The King Of Fruits

Our strong desire and urge for durians led us to First Garden during lunch time.... It is durian season now and we know that the durians will be at every corner of this residential area....

the durians are everywhere...
located in different parts of the shop
with different prices...

my friend was still undecided...
left side or right side durians are better??

these are the expensive ones..
RM8.00 per kilogramme ($2.50usd)

over this side, they are cheaper...
RM5-6 per durian.. ($2.00 each)

ended up buying from this side..
cheaper ones...

finally each of us got a few to take home..

Just look at them!!
Yellowish, sweet and bitter!!

They ended up as part of my dinner...
anyone care to join me?
I still have some left for tomorrow night!
hehehee....

Roti Telur Versus Claire's French Toast

I had this roti canai telur for breakfast in an indian shop....
the roti telur was fabulous...
crispy on the outside and soft inside...
(roti telur - bread with egg)

When I told my girl that I had this for breakfast,
she also wanted to have that for dinner....

But I was so tired... so lazy to drive out to buy...
suddenly.... *ting!*
.....an idea came to my mind...

I told her,"Come, help me... lets make our own roti telur"
(egg with bread)

I whipped out 5 eggs...
add some sugar and a dash of salt
(gosh, everyone knows this, right?)

initially I was patiently getting these done...
something like french toast...

Then... patience running out...

... eventually ended up frying this way......

they ended up like this... hahahhaa...

in the shops, roti telur is eaten with curry etc etc...
very nice one!

but in my home.. my roti telur is eaten with strawberry jam...
say what you like...
my girl and I "walloped" half a loaf of bread...
and the remaining few pieces
of course, went to Labbie, my Labrador!

*burp*
*pat stomach*

Satisfaction Guaranteed!
hahahaha....

Mind My Blog...

This afternoon I was feeling very uncomfortable about one thing... and I need to be cautious about it from now on.

Recently there are some issues about food blogger being sued for writing negatively about some eatery outlets in their blogs. Being sued for commenting negatively is something we do not expect to happen to us.... After reading such cases, as bloggers, we really need to take some action to safeguard ourselves....

Another thing I need to take precaution is about the pictures I put on the blog here. I realize it is not safe anymore to put my photos or anybody's else pictures here. But of course, it is up to individual, I only cite for myself because something triggered off this afternoon that made me beware of what I write and put up in my blog..... cos... we never know... who is reading... who is watching...

Gosh, I made this sound like a thriller movie....

Putu In The Morning

As you all know, one of my passions is about tasting new stuff... foodstuff, I mean... something I haven't try before and that it fascinates me, I will go for it.... something like this one....

When we entered the shop for our breakfast,
I was fascinated with this "block".....

anyone tried this before?
suddenly it reminded me of the
Leaning Tower of Pisa... :)
At first we did not know how to eat it...
until the waiter came and told us to
break it up... mixed it with
the scraped coconut and sugar...

So... what was the taste like?
er... something like eating some sort of sweetened flour..
Well, we were not used to it ... as yet...
But I think it would be nice if it is eaten steaming hot....

Anyone know the actual name for this?

My First Visit To St. Mike

With my humble breakfast of just oats and biscuits, my stomach was "growling ferociously" by the time it was noon..... I love it when my stomach is hungry... it means I can eat all I want... large portions and getting justified because of the light breakfast....

Thinking of where to eat is another problem but when Elin suggested St Mike's, I said "Great Idea!" Both of us have never been there yet, in fact, St Mike's is quite new and I heard one of my ex-classmate is the manager there.... sounds great, eh....

upon entering, a nice quiet cosy area greeted us...
I like the counter, the warm lightings...

just like in the movies where we can sit at the bar here..
and have a sip or two ... hehee...

look who I found!
the manager of St Mike..
She is Madam Siow Bee Har!

must sit down and have a good chat first..
she is super friendly and nice!

chatting aside... we must also order and eat...
Elin ordered this chicken chop...
such a Big Portion...
(RM15.90 with free drink and desserts!)

I asked her whether was it Us that she made it specially big?
She replied.. No, no.. the portions here are same for all...
regardless who you are... hehehe....

then came my Fish N Chips... RM16.90
Gosh.. two big crisphy pieces..
Crispy on the outside and fresh fish on the inside...
Not dory fish but Halibut...
heard that it is not locally sold here..

Meanwhile...

after the main course, my forever-longing desserts came...

chocolate moist cake...

drooling yet?? eh...eh....

oh, you can opt for a scoop of ice cream
if you want to "reject" the cake.... (make your choice!)

Ok, I ask one more time...
cake or ice cream? or both? hehehehee...

While you decide, let me take you further into St Mike's Bistro Restaurant...
The courtyard....

Happy hours after work... you can linger here....

or if you have other bigger functions to hold...
like engagement parties, anniversaries, reunion gatherings etc..
you can have the whole of upstairs which can manned 50 people or so..

you can have the whole hall to yourself and your friends..
a very good environment.. very colonial like....
wonderful and nice ambience...

Well, you know what I'm thinking?
This is a perfect place for a Big Bloggers' Gathering!!
What do you say?
Perfect food, perfect place for perfect bloggers like us!!
hahahaha....

This is not a sponsored post nor Madam Bee har's request for me to write... I recommended this place because it is truly a very nice place and yet the prices are very reasonable...

John Trovolta + Olivia Newton John - 30 Years Later

Grease lovers, wanna go back in time to reminisce about this movie in the 1970s?

Gosh, I bet many of you who are reading this, will wonder what Grease is all about.... some of you are not even born yet, I am sure...

For those who are in their 40s and 50s now, maybe you will be interested to watch these two songs by Olivia Newton John and John Trovolta... When the Grease was shown, they were so so young and so cool....

Summer Nights and You're the One That I Want being sung again by both of them... er... maybe 30 years later? A very entertaining performance by both of them and their "gang."

I laughed along with them while I watched the videos below... :)

Massage Me Real Slow...

For Exactly one month I had been "slogging" very hard in the house... and I realize that housework seems to be tougher than my office work!

You know, I really want to salute the home ministers and "ministeress"... they really deserve praises, especially those with young babies and kids and without maids or helpers... the heavy workload each day.... gosh, I cannot imagine....

Endless chores... after this, it is that... after that..comes back to this... *grunt*.... my house cannot be kept clean... I mopped upstairs, downstairs is dusty... after the mopping, bathroom dirty... after cleaning bathroom, tables chairs sticky... kitchen... etc etc... gosh.. *faint*

So do you think we should deserve a MASSAGE?
DEFINITELY!!

awwww....my poor weary legs...

an excuse to relax ...
after the daily work in house and office...

the beginning...
half way through, I nearly dozed off...
then I heard familiar voices...
my colleagues have arrived...

they opted for the head, neck and shoulder massage...
How Blissful after five days of Hard Work!
It is good to go once a week to De-stress ourselves, agree?

Where Am I in 2025

9 MONTHS!  I have been away from this blog for so long... (I thought it was more than a year)  So much have happened and I do not know where...
