Michael Firestone & I - MJ Live Tribute In Las Vegas

The following night after the heavy downpour, it was a time for another excitement, this time it was not as "threatening" as the previous night but a time for a "thunderous" one... an event I was looking forward to since the day I arrived in Las Vegas!

The only SHOW I wanted to go and watch is none other than a tribute to Michael Jackson and he is none other than Michael Firestone!  Upon checking into the resort, we quickly booked tickets to the MJ Live in Rio Hotel...
Getting ready for the show...
The good old "Charlie's Angels" and their "Bosley?"  LOL....
The Crown Theatre Nightclub where the show begins at 8.30pm..
We were there very early around 7pm...  (kiasu-ness)
... first come first serve seats....
One ticket cost around $37usd.
Soon we were led into the nightclub....
and get the Best Seats ever..
(after giving some $ tips!)
Getting the feel of the surrounding...
Take some pictures ....
before the show began...
Trying out the camera la ...
then....
the curtains raised up and Michael Firestone
appeared... and sang... "Man In The Mirror"
For a moment, I really thought it was the real Michael Jackson..
even his voice sounded the same as the original MJ...

Thriller... Dangerous... Billie Jean... Beat It...
all the popular songs from Michael Jackson... ..
Hearing these songs made me miss Michael Jackson in a way...
Felt sad that he had passed on just like that...
The One hour performance by Michael Firestone
did not put MJ to shame....
It was really worth watching the "MJ Live"
and I wouldn't mind watching it over and over again...
Michael & I

After the performance, fans of MJ (or should I say Michael Firestone)
queued up to take a picture with him....
And that is how I have this picture...
Though it is not the real Michael Jackson
I will treasure this one here always!

It Sure Rains In Las Vegas...

Soon it was dark when we reached the outskirts of Las Vegas... in fact, it was going to pour and it did!! With the lightning and all, I was quite nervous about the heavy rain and wind... furthermore, the radio kept announcing that those driving to Las Vegas got to look out for flash floods and take a U-turn out from the town....
I think "we" brought the rain to Las Vegas...
according to my BIL, it seldom rains in Las Vegas..
as in the song "It never rains in California"
dark clouds looming above us....
on the opposite side, the sun was setting...
but on our side where we were heading, heavy rain was going to pour on us...
after an hour of anxiety through the heavy downpour and silent prayers,
the rain was lighter when we were few kilometers from LV...
we stopped over at Railroad Hotel for our dinner...
we had salad...
followed by chicken soup....
we ordered a beef steak...medium done...
grilled salmon....
and I ordered a plate of meatballs with spaghetti with shredded cheese...
My girl sure will "envy" me when she sees this... lol...
by the time we reached Vegas, the rain had stopped....
and I was told that I must take this "Landmark" ....
Never leave Vegas without this image...
LOL...
Next Post...
A Rendezvous with Michael...
before we say goodbye to Las Vegas..

A Sexy Outfit In London Bridge At Lake Havasu, Arizona

From Hoover Dam in Nevada, we continued on our journey, passed many desserts and reached a small town called Lake Havasu City in Arizona. We went there to visit an old friend of my BIL and my sister and we were served with an American tea...
the road leading to the friend's house...
the house reminded me of those Spanish type of villa...
the weather was super HOT!  Couldn't wait to go inside...
A very welcoming sight awaiting for us when we were inside the house...
I "attacked" the salsa with the tomatillos...
the Salsa was home made... so yummy that I kept taking helping after helping! LOL..
homemade pumpkin muffins and carrot cakes!
and we had ice cream plus fruits to compensate for the hot weather....

After an hour or so, we left for a tourist attraction, that is the London Bridge!  The real London Bridge is now in Lake Havasu, bought for US$2.5 million from the City of London... (wonder why it was sold to the US... anyone knows?)
the entrance to the London Bridge in Lake Havasu...
Arizona Tourist Center... a tourist standing right outside!!
it was very quiet and peaceful...and clean.... and not so hot already...
The emblem of London Bridge...
oh..what is this...
Caring is Sharing!
Here it is.... the LONDON BRIDGE... bought and flew over from London piece by piece ....
The real London Bridge...but it is not falling down here...
London Bridge and I....
it was not peak season so it was kind of peaceful and serene then....
well, cannot leave the place without entering the souvenir shop, right?
Should I buy this???
This sexy piece cost around $40usd!!
So... what do you think?
Would you like to buy this outfit??
hahahhahaa....

Great Sights At Hoover Dam Between Nevada And Arizona

After our breakfast, we set out again on the road to Hoover Dam or once known as Boulder Dam which is situated on the border between the US states of Arizona and Nevada. Considered to be the world's largest dam and an engineering marvel, Hoover Dam is really a sight not to be missed!

I am really "hopeless" in Geography, I have never heard of it before, it raised many eyebrows when I mentioned this.. LOL... even my son said he has "came across" this fact during his schooling days... I guess this mama here is really not into studying then but it is indeed educational, to see it with my own eyes is something else...
we parked our car here and we walked down a bit to admire the awesome sight...
so this is the Hoover Dam/Boulder Dam
along the Colorado River...
the engineering marvel is this bridge....
Hoover Dam Bypss
just opened in 2010
something interesting for my son...
I dare not look down.. this tower is slanting...
zoomed in to take a picture...
when we left the dam, we drove through this bridge...
it was covered on both sides...
Good too..so that I couldn't see the height!
and now... some images to preserve....
the sight is really awesome...
I dare not sit too "in"... LOL..
I rather stand with these folks of mine..
Charlie's Angels... hahhahaa...
Many countless thanks to my BIL...
He is really a Great Tour Guide...

Next... is Lake Havasu...
