Inspiring Stories For A Cause

I would like to share a part of my story in a project sponsored by Chikapowwow as their CSR campaign in support of PruKasih.

Living Through The Loss Of Someone We love...

One of the living nightmares in life is that we do not expect the unexpected to happen and when it does, the loss of someone we dearly love left a great impact and emptiness in our hearts….

That's my first paragraph... if you can spare a moment to read on, just click on the title above...

For more inspiring real life stories written from our fellow Malaysians,  just click here...

Last and not least, you can do your part in helping this campaign by sharing this link in your Facebook or any other social media you can think of.  For every One Share in Facebook, there will be a donation of RM1 given to Pru Kasih.....

Let's do our part by Sharing.... after all , it is all about Caring....

God Bless...

Our Poses In Bed Before And After...

Forgive me if I keep repeating this... Time flies.... or should I say.. Time rockets.... many times I pleaded with Time to slow down... so much to do and yet so little Time...

Last Saturday morning, I had a slight shock.... I couldn't get up from bed... when I sat up, the stabbing pain at my backbone was so tremendous that I had to fall back on the bed again... What happened, I asked myself... my whole back was stiffened and it took me minutes to get the right position to get up from bed without triggering more pain....

Gosh, is this signs of "old age?"  Then I tried to recall what had caused the pain... re-wind my grey cells and it suddenly dawned upon me that the fault lies to my Fat Pet!  I remember taking her out for a walk and all of a sudden, she pulled me with all her strength towards another dog which was coming her way... Yes!  I was unexpectedly "jerked" and I think my back nerves were in shock....

Ok, this post is not about my backpain... it is about Time Traveling Super Fast....
I remember taking this picture when she was about four years old..
Her signature pose ....
and
we did the same pose for fun last week...
and hopefully in another 10 years or more,
I will post up another same pose again...
(provided I could still cross my legs by then)
LOL....

TK Noodles From US And Kampua Noodles From Sibu

The next morning my sister took my mom and I to try out one Chinese food outlet near her place.  She told us that the wan ton noodles here are not bad and even the koay teow (flat noodles) are also as good as in Malaysia..... Having heard that, I looked forward to tasting the noodles and their sidedish...
Very neat and nice ambience, don't you think so?
TK Noodle shop... reasonable prices
ranging from $5usd onwards...
Looks familiar, right?  Like Penang koay teow t'ng
(flat noodle soup)
This was for me...
I was missing Malaysian food then.. hahaha...
my sister ordered the mixed noodles with beef...
and my mom had the springy wanton noodles..
cooked to perfection...
then my sister told us that we must try their fried yam cake
I guess all the good cooks have migrated overseas.. hahaha...
Coming back to Malaysia, tonight I had
KAMPUA NOODLES for dinner!!
Exported out from Sibu...
and I am sure everyone knows the man who sent ....
My mom put a lot of ingredients...
No MSG and yeet the soup was really tasty..
and of course, so were the Smooth Kampua Noodles..

Country Roads, Take Me Home...

Next we were taken to Old Town... a place which reminded me cowboy shows and stuff...
we spent another one hour there walking around
and buying lots of candies (sugar free!)
the planks, the old railways...
it is part of a tourist site but since it is a weekday,
the crowd was not there...
If carriages and horses were "parked" here instead,
then it would look like a cowboy town..
nothing much here actually... we just walked along the pavement..
mostly souvenir shops ....
Delta King Ferry...
met Mr Silver here... who kept dancing to the music...
too bad I couldn't manage to catch up with his "moves"....
music has ended... a "handshake" before we moved on.... home...

A Half Day Tour In Sacramento City Hall

After "helping-out" our farm chores, we were "rewarded"by our BIL... he took us for a city tour downtown to Sacramento city which is around half hour away from the ranch... We were most delighted to... finally we had time to go to the capital of California... lol...

I was expecting the capital to be buzzing with cars and people but to my astonishment, it was neither.. it was in fact a very peaceful place, no jam even in the town centre, nothing like San Francisco.. it reminded me that Sacramento is like Ipoh and San Francisco is like Kuala Lumpur.. LOL...
downtown...
we parked our car nearby and our tour began...
we were led to this place that
reminded me of our Parliament in Malaysia..
the monument where they honor the heroic soldiers
who perished during the Vietnamese war...

taking a "breather" walking towards the City Hall...
finally we reached the entrance... or was it the back entrance?
hahahaa...I forgot cos I remember walking and walking...
this should be the front entrance... hehehe..
Looks like White House to me...
inside the City Hall...
Abraham Lincoln's time....
Before leaving the City Hall
a momento was taken as usual...

Keep Ourselves Warm

Winter is coming soon and my sister is suggesting that we go to Hong Kong during Christmas.  Unfortunately I do not have enough leave, almost finished all my working leave during my US tour.  I guess I have to wait till January next year before I can plan going anywhere.  Since it is winter, it is advisable to get one of this best women's north face jacket to keep ourselves warm during the winter.  I like this purple jacket here, how about you?

Look What I Found....

Good to be back at the ranch after the ten days trip, it is a time to relax before we leave for Malaysia in a couple of days.  Time to catch up with some last minute shopping and packing.... I know my two bags are "overweight" already... thank goodness for my mother, I can put some of the stuff in her bag but not much, she also wanted some space for food stuff to take home...

The very next morning after our trip, my BIL "invited" us to his farm again.... well, after ten days, the farm needs attending to.. and we are most willing to help him do whatever needs to be done....
Here I am... fully attired and ..
waiting for my "duty list"... hahahaa...

along the creek....

Wanna take a ride?
we were assigned to simple tasks only...
only plucking and putting into paper bags..
and that's it.....
red chillies..
zuchinis...
giant green pepper....
and
look what I found.....
doubled headed tomato!
It was over-riped by the time we saw it...
It is like wearing a Bow Tie and Tuxedo.. right?
