A Surprise In KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital

My sister has been "cleaning" my mom's wound ever since she has been discharged two months back and she has been doing a good job about it. The "toe hole" is getting smaller even though it is not fully healed yet, a very slow healing process due to diabetes..

At around 10am on Saturday, I received an SOS call from my sister... my mom needed to go to hospital for my sister saw some redness around my mom's wounded feet. This time we are more alert and aware, anything red, we must not procrastinate anymore... Quickly I phoned up my cell leader, I was supposed to go for church practice at 11am for Sunday's service. Which is more urgent.. needless to say, I rushed over to my mom's place and off we went to KPJ known as Ipoh Specialist Centre..
While waiting for the doctor.. I played with my iPad..
Took a picture of my mom's beautiful leg..
And ..
Then I heard MUSIC!
For a moment, I thought I was in a pub....
From where I was... on the first floor...
then I looked down...
There they were... the musicians...
The female singer was rendering her first song... "I don't want to talk about it"
Her voice reminded me of Tracy Huang... sweet...soothing voice..
This is the biggest hospital in Ipoh, if I am not mistaken...
They even have caddies to shuttle visitors from the car parks to the lobby...
I wouldn't mind sitting here longer to listen to the songs actually... LOL...
Does this look like a hospital if I hadn't say so? :)
It was quite a surprise for me, first time I heard of a live band in a hospital...
I wonder what is the main purpose...
But I sure support it...
at least the WAIT is not so monotonous....

In conclusion: Doctor said my mom's wound is doing just fine, healing properly, thanks to my sister's cleaning up daily and he told us not to worry about the redness, it is normal to be red around the leg due to the soreness... Thank God it is nothing serious and we went home after spending RM50 for consultation in this posh hospital...

  4. Nice touch! Music heals the soul, and hopefully will help in the healing of the body too - it's therapeutic.

Is your mum on antibiotics? I understand that in serious cases, they will inject around the wound till the swelling/redness subsides. Hope it gets well soonest.

  19. I am SO glad your mom is alright!!! Do you know how long it will take to heal completely? This is the happiest hospital I have ever seen!!! I LOVE it. So much sorrow in a hospital, and the music will help, very upbeat and good for the soul! Our hospitals here have a big piano in the lobby, a volunteer plays. Very boring compared to yours!!

  23. KPJ in Ipoh looks nice!

A wound like that is no joke, untreated, it can cause blood poisoning and other problems, even a small cut I had got infected and it was red all the way up my arm.

Good to hear your mom is healing well!

  24. KPJ Ipoh looks so much better than KPJ Taiping >.<

Take good care of your mum, this type of wound must be treated properly.

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t
