Our Brunch In Pak Khong Restaurant, Kepong

Good food does not necessary come from expensive restaurants and beautiful decor on the outside.  Before we left for Ipoh, we were taken to this place here in Kepong, it is just next to the market style of place called Pak Thong.  We reached here around 11.30am and were the first customers for the day.
We parked our car here and walked to the back... or is it the front??
I think the front is an open concept and we walked to the back which has an air con room....
Despite a few holes on the table cloth and a few mozzies that "greeted" u...
the food here is still worth coming by for.....
Their steamed fish was very fresh and the sauce reminded me of my childhood days....
I remember my mom used to steam like this too... simple and nice...
Sambal Paku Pakis....
er.... what shall I call this?
Innards?
Ok, stewed mixed innards....!
The knuckle but cooked in chinese style....
Not so sinful because it is only the skin and the bones... or should I say just the tendons....
Another dish not to be missed is the Claypot Curry Creamy Prawns that look like Lobsters...
Enormous that they were halved when served....
Well cooked.... the juiciness of the prawns in curry....
(Lai Yeow Curry, they called it)
The six of us could not finish the five dishes....
The remainder did not go into waste but were brought back to Ipoh....
And the bill from this Kepong restaurant came to RM212..... hmmmm....
Any comments from the pricing?

  4. Won't be surprised that it would cost that much. These two dishes, fish & prawns would cost a bomb. All in all, food looks great.

  11. Call me jakun, I'm from KL, but never been to Kepong before.. I love steamed fish.. If it's not fishy, I can wallop two bowls of rice with just the gravy alone.. Oohh, that innards, I call it "lou mei".. Yep, a bit rude in cantonese, but it's really called "lou mei".. Tongues, ears, everything, teehee..
