Ferrying Across To Butterworth, Penang

It has been years since we have been ferried across from the island to the mainland...  Normally we will use the bridge but this time we went by ferry because the place we wanted to go is near to the jetty at the mainland.

Going from the island to the mainland is free but coming back to the island, we have to pay a RM7 toll charge but my son got this Touch n Go card where the toll fare is bit cheaper, one way is RM5.40.

Coming back to my ferry post, time passed very fast cos we kept on taking picture after picture... not so much on the scenery but on "ourselves..... "  In no time, we reached the jetty at the mainland...
Behind us is the Libra... I think....
Same face moe?
Ever since he started working, he has gone down a lot!
Blue skies looming above..
Yes..... my two bodyguards...
Different length, I know...
Spot the difference...
Real sunny day...
And I forgot to apply sunblock lotion...
ouch... ouchhhh!!
Anyway... after the photo sessions....
The mainland was in sight...
Time to heal our "hunger" in Butterworth!

  1. RM5.60, not 5.40 LOL! 20% discount off RM7, that's what that Touch n Go does. But they said they going to end that discount in 2016 or 2018, not sure is real or just rumors :(

    1. hahahaa... Ok, 20 sen short ah! Hope they wont stop...

  2. Ferry rides are very enjoyable. Good to see all of you enjoying the ride.

  3. Claire, we too have not taken the ferry ride for a long time. Your bodyguards have your smile. Waiting for your food post...what and where you are going to eat..hahah.

  4. that's lotsa pictures throughout ur ferry ride! all smiles like some toothpaste ad!

    1. Yes, but no tooth paste companies seem to like us.. hahaha.

  5. The three of you are so beautiful!! a ferry ride looks like such fun, I have never been on any kind of boat or ferry. Is his job working with computers?

    1. If it is a short ride, it is acceptable.. if long ferry ride, then I might "vomit." hahaha..

  6. First time I went on it was in 1973 - did go on it again more recently - 2008 or 2009, I think. When were you on the ferry? There was a fire a few days ago...

  7. Call me jakun, I was only in a ferry once, like when I was about 5-6 yrs old! Three of you looks very yau ying.. Like gf with two bf :)

  8. Spot the difference???... The length...Do Re Mi...oh yeah, Andy has slim down a lot. Seems fun to use a ferry. Have never been to one.

  9. oh, coming out of the island is free.. no wonder, muahahahaha!! we were puzzled why there was no counter o gate or toll or what-so-ever when we drove in or out of the ferry when we left..

and TnG has got 20% discount using the ferry?? how nice.. you know in KL if you use TnG there is no discount and worse still you gotta pay 10% extra if you use it for parking, how ridiculous right?? it's supposed to be cheaper since there is no paper tickets and paying facilities needed for TnG wat~~

    1. Coming back by the bridge way.. supposedly cost RM7... this touch n go... I think kind of different from the others...

  10. J love to runaround the ferry too...

  11. Take ferry good, can rest a while from driving. When bring me there?Cny ?

  12. I haven't been on a ferry for ages! I was a kid when I had a ferry ride and it was fun :)

    1. So many of you here had not tried the ferry for a long time... looks like I am not the only one.. :)

  13. great to take the ferry too..brings back good memories when kids were younger.

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Caring And Sharing At Limestone, Regal Lodge, Ipoh

IMPROMPTU GATHERING.... Nothing was planned beforehand, it was only at the last minute that we received call to have lunch at Limestone Cafe, inside Regal Lodge.  It was my first time there to have set lunch.  The menu prices were reasonable, around RM15.90 for the main dish, RM3 for a bowl of soup and RM2 for ice cream.  Other than that, coffee, tea and soft drinks are free.
We were there not so much for the food but for the ambiance... we practically had the whole cafe to ourselves during that lunch hour.  Only one or two tables were occupied and we spent more than two hours there since it was a Friday long hour lunch for my working colleagues.  After a few months absence from me, it was wonderful to catch up with my ex-colleagues again!
I was super hungry by lunch time and I felt like eating almost anything in the menu. We ended up ordering one main dish each and then sharing them with one another so that we could taste a bit of this and that.....
I felt like eating Aglio Oli…

Famous Wanton Mee At New Hoong Kee, Bandar Sri Damansara

BREAKFAST FEAST..  Best meal of the day is always my first meal because I know I am able to tuck in as much as my stomach can accept.  I eat a lot in the mornings and then slowly dwindle by the end of the day.  As the saying goes, eat like a king in the morning and like a pauper in the evenings.  This is what I normally do nowadays, not because I wanted to, but it is my own body system that tune me this way.  Though I deny I am old but the body says otherwise... LOL...

On this morning, we went to New Hoong Kee in Bandar Sri Damansara, my sibling said this is currently his favourite place.  And after trying, I know why.... the food we ordered, all turned out good and tasty, even the curry reminded me of my good old days!
Managed to catch the name otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell this story now...  My type of curry... I can go without the chicken... Just the other ingredients will do fine for me.. I like the way they cook this curry... Heard the BBQ pork is tasty too... melt in …
