Walking Down Memory Lane At Convent Of The Holy Infant Jesus, Ipoh

THE VERY NEXT MORNING AFTER OUR REUNION PARTY, some of us made our way to our former school... CONVENT OF THE HOLY INFANT JESUS!

Thanks to the committee, we were allowed to go into the school without any barrier and we really had a good time remiencing once again our school days.... I was in this school ever since I was six years old, the old kindergarten is still there though it has been converted to a dining hall for the orphans... To my surprise, a handful of us attended the same kindergarten at the same place and that makes us.... er... how many years of friendship???   Endless years!  Better don't keep counting...

We had to focus on a few cameras and many ended up looking at different angles...
Somebody mentioned... "We must capture Jesus too.. No Jesus, No US!"
Then we split up to our individual class...
Only a handful of us from the same class in Form 5 who came for this event...
Then it was all random pictures!
Still at the front of the school field...
Yes, Jesus is UP here..
Our school badges...
Welcome to CHIJ!
Remember this?
Primary assembly....
Our secondary school hall...
I remember we had our recess time here during our primary school days...
Walking down a few steps, we adjourned to the secondary side...
The Primary school hall where we had our music lessons then....
Those days it was only cement flooring... but now.... wow!
Our classes along the veranda...
Leading to the orhanage and kindy hall...
Sister Mary Michael... our English Teacher!
We... her former students!!
Thank you Sister for the many years you have contributed to the Convent School!

Ladies...ladies....

Recess time area for the secondary....
My Form Four sitting partner for the whole year....
Assembly area for the secondary students....
A lot of sweet memories here...
One incident was... we were made to stand in the sun when our class made too much noise one time!
Now we are really disciplined and good.....
 CHIJ... shining upon us.....
That is about all for this post....
Take a bow....
Thank you to all my Teachers who "nurtured" me for so many years....
Thank you to my friends who walk together with me for so many years too...
Thank you to all of you who come by faithfully to read my blog...
THANK YOU!!

  2. What a lovely homecoming!!!

So nice that they've retained and maintained the place so very well. In Singapore, the original CHIJ is now CHIJMES - I think the school has been relocated some place else. Sure it can never ever be the same, not at all. Sad!

  3. oh, I thot there were just a few of you but instead that was a very big group!! indeed very impressive that so many made all the way from all over the places for this gathering.. I've been back to my school a few times and those "reminiscing pieces" were indeed something amazing..

  4. Claire, I also attended this same school CHIJ from Form 1 to 5 which makes me your senior of 4 or 5 years. Thank you for all the photos of our old schools to refresh my memory of the good old days. Those days, we used to play netball on the front field in front of the school because of lack of playing field.

You are having so much fun at your old school. Truly exciting to see the teachers again though not many are still with the school.
