From Ah Meng To San Lou, Taman Iskandar, Johor

INITIAL PLAN WAS TO GO TO AH MENG restaurant at Taman Iskandar, Johor... but to our disappointment, it was closed!  Since we were around that vicinity and wanted to eat our "Smack Noodles" desperately, we opted for the second choice.  The shop is called San Lou in Taman Pelangi, it serves almost the same food as in Ah Meng, we were told.  No problem with me, as long as I get to eat my "Dessert!"

San Lou was crowded by the time we reached there... almost 8pm plus....
Waiting patiently.. by then our tummies were "growling".....
We had crispy fried squids....
Crispy Fried Chicken with Lam Yue...
Didn't know why we ordered two fried stuff same time!
Johor's Otak Otak... very nice!
Loh Hon Chye....
Noodles in egg gravy....
And this is what we called Smack Noodles....
They are like being smacked flat!
And of course, the highlight of the dinner is... OR NEE!
The one I have been yearning for....
Sweet Dessert made of yam, pumpkin and gingko!
My favourite!
Too bad Ipoh does not have this...
*Or perhaps it is a better thing that Ipoh does not have!*
Okay, easy does it...
Mama wants a Bigger portion please....
Thank You!

  4. We have the yam - or nee but not served with pumpkin and whatever else like that. Love it! Can even buy at the pasar malam here, I think. My girl would love the deep fried quids. Otak-otak looks good.

  7. Or Nee is available in KL too. Does your Or Nee taste of lard? The ones I have eaten taste of lard so I don't quite like it. The "Smack Noodles" look like glass noodles.
