A Gift To Yours Truly

I love sitting at home if I am in Ipoh.  Of course I do go out for food and catching up with my friends on and off, but most times, I rather stay home to rest and relax.  My friends say I am like an "octopus" with endless legs, always seem to be traveling here and there but I am not really so.  If I am not in Ipoh, I am either at the north or south of Malaysia because those are the places where my kids are stationed at the moment.  They used to tease me, "Mom, in Malaysia, you have covered north, west and south already!"  Yes, only the east part of Malaysia I have not drive over yet, I mean as yet...

That is why I mentioned I love to sit at home when I am back in Ipoh.  Shopping is out of the question, no more cravings for new clothes or anything extravagant on my body.  No more unnecessities in the shopping malls if I could help it.  I spend my money on Food and my Travels, I always tell my friends.  When it comes to real shopping such as on birthday gifts, celebrations, anniversaries, there is a solution to getting gifts without the hassle of going out to walk endless stores to get what I want.  Recently I found one online store which offer what I want to get for myself, my family and friends.  In fact I have claimed one free mug from them during a promotion some time ago and since then, I am now thinking of getting a couple more gifts for my love ones and friends.  Shhhhhh... better not let them know otherwise it will not be a surprise anymore.  hahahahaa....

I always wanted to have my own customized mug for myself.  Before this, I have purchased a whole set of customized mugs for my brother's family, five of them in total.  Each time I go and visit them, the five beautiful mugs with their pictures on them could be seen displayed in the house.  They told me that they are "too good" to be used so the mugs were being decorated instead.  hahhaaha...  This time I got one for myself at www.printcious.com.

Besides mugs, there is a wide selection of gifts to get for yourself or your love ones.  This is something more personalized and not everyone can get the same as what you do.  You can customize your own photos, be it scenery, wordings or any love dovey messages, each gift you order will be specially done for you.
Part of the categories in the website...

Initially I did not know how to upload my picture to the mug... and I was like "stuck" halfway.  But no worries, there is an "ever-ready" customer service chatbox just at the right hand corner of their website.  The customer service was so helpful, she guided me through step by step, from A to Z, patiently with this auntie (yours truly) here.  Finally I got everything done up smoothly and within a few days, I received this special package...
Carefully wrapped up with bubble wrap inside as well...
Giving with Art is giving with Heart...
That is a very nice quote... Yes, even to myself!
hahahahaa...

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t

Home Cooked Dishes

NOT MUCH HAPPENING... and lazy too.... My neighbour gave me half pumpkin and I have been keeping it for a couple of days before I finally decide what to do with it.  I cook it into small chunks and sauteed it with minced meat, okra and basil leaves.  Yes, it would be great to put in some small cilipadi but unfortunately, I did not find any in my fridge.  Steamed a bowl of rice and that was meal for dinner.... One dish meal....  Pumpkin reminds me of sweet potatoes...sweet after cooking... Another dinner meal consist of Sambal Fish, black pepper met and a hard boiled egg  I only boiled the egg, the other two dishes were "sponsored" by my neighbour... LOL...
