Nyonya Food At Nancy's Kitchen In Malacca

THE VERY NEXT MORNING, we three ladies continued on our road journey to Malacca.  This is the first time I drove solo, meaning no alternate drivers except my two female passengers who would be in charge of the directions, ie. holding my Handphone with Waze on!  LOL... No Waze means losing our way around, it also means no road trips by ourselves.

Left Sg Buloh around 9.30am and reached Malacca town around noon, just nice to have our lunch.  On the way, there were drizzling and heavy showers at different places but Thank God, we reached Malacca without any hitch.  Waze led us all the way to Nancy's Kitchen, our journey was very smooth, no wrong turnings whatsoever.  So.... ladies, do not fear... if we retirees can do it, you also Can!  LOL...
Upon entering, the ground floor was full with patrons...
We have to adjourn to the second floor....
Seated right in front of this cupboard which we used to have
during our younger days....
For starters, we ordered a set of Pai Tee...
They received our Thumbs UP!
As for the dishes.... Nyonya Chicken Curry with Keluak...
Keluak is some kind of a nut, black in colour, to enhance the taste, I guess....
Nyonya Acar... Green chillies stuffed with papaya...
Vegetarian Dish....
Stuffed Sambal Fish....
Meal for three hungry ladies....
And a Bowl of Cendol to end the meal....
The total cost came to around RM60...
No pictures of us three because of our tired looks... LOL....
After our meal, we continued our journey on the highway down south...

  1. I love Nyonya but not many authentic Nyonya cuisine in Kuching. Pai Tee. I can have many of them.

  2. Keluak in curry? Never tried that before - I think the one I had, also in Malacca, was with fermented beans, tau cheo. Can't say I liked it a lot.

As for the pai tee, here, we used to buy the shells or casings and we usually have the same stuffing as popiah filling - can't buy those anymore so it has been a long time since I had any. :(

  6. The ayam buah keluak looks weirdly different than the normal peranakan dish. I've not dine here before.

  8. So many things here I would like to try: the chilis stuffed with papayas, buah keluak chicken curry and pai tee. Must be so delicious! Let me note down the name of this shop to try.
